@@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE The smartphone market has got to be impacting the camera market to some degree. I have a photographer friend that laid aside his Canon and uses his new iPhone exclusively.
@@briansquibb999 Yes they are that good and also less hassle. I cut this video all on an iphone and it took very little time compared to my canon gear where I have to copy everything multiple times. It is not better but, the gap is getting close to why bother when everybody shares photos on these devices. Instagram and other social networks. Thanks again for commenting.
I remember reading a review of the Minolta DiMage A1, I think by Phil Askey, so long ago. I ended up buying that camera because of that review. I've stayed with DP Review over so many years now, and have really enjoyed Chris and Jordan. There's such an incredible amount of information in those forums and old articles that is maybe going to be lost. Very sad.
I've enjoyed reading what DP has put out over the years but fortunately never got caught up in GAS. Most of my equipment is rather dated but still works very well. Was a little surprised to hear Amazon owns DP but I probably shouldn't be. They own about everything else. The big trend these days seems to be returning to film. Pentax seems to have jumped on this band wagon and announced producing new film cameras. Looking back is forward thinking??????
Yea, maybe going back, things are changing. Is everybody having burn out tech and then just thinking well my gear is good enough?? Film is making a come back as younger guys want some older vibe right ???
