I was there, and so close to the dais at Uhuru Park on that day in 2002 as a second year student. I have not seen a charged crowd as the one that was there that day. Chants of "Yote Yawezekana Bila Moi" rent the air. But the horse back police on those big massive majestic horses did their job really well that day.

These are the results of Moi’s era. Men who value wealth than people. The 24 years of Moi, produced leaders with no moral, selfish and using church and the bible to confuse and lies to people. The ideology and Kanu way of life still breathes through him more than Uhuru. He is a cunning and disruptive fellow just like Moi did in politics. He gives hand outs like Moi did in churches. However, his political leadership could steer us into plunder with the West just like Moi did that led to the economic crisis & instability in yk92. Another thing that he lacks is Moi's keenness on what to say and what not to say. That's why Ruto is so controversial with what he says and what he does with his promises and what he stands for. When everyone is fighting corruption, he ended up with his contradicting statements which makes it even harder to take back. The fact that he never owns up to it on live TV even makes it worse. People be laughing about how he dodges questions but one day it will come back to haunt us all.

Moi was a very big obstacle and obstraction to Ruto's political upward mobility. His death in 2020 was timely in regard to the 2022 elections. Moi's death killed KANU's relevance in the Rift allowing Ruto total supremaship in the region.
@Mazera Nyamawi..anyways there is the usual good talk ...we want some perfect leader with good past record but you know in reality life ain't like that (till we get to heaven) ... so we have to choose the better of the crazy options..the only thing I like/love most about Dr.Ruto is that he is clearing off the political elite but trying to bring in young politicians to replace them ...that will change the landscape not sure if its positive but worth trying.Christians voted Trump not because he is a christian(I doubt if he is one) they wanted someone who will stand for them and for which he is doing ..they care less of his past record ..his past record will make Ruto look like a Saint.
