Once injected into the mortar bed, DPC Cream slowly releases silane/siloxane into the capillaries of the mortar bed until the cream is completely absorbed. The cream also penetrates the bricks or other masonry substrates above and below the mortar bed. The silane/siloxane reacts with the mortar bed and the bricks forming a permanent polysiloxane damp-course within the treated wall to prevent rising damp.

Generally if you are doing it from the inside then you want to inject the DPC cream as close to the timber floor level. The reason is that the cream can penetrate below the timber floor level to give protection to the timbers from damp. You can also do multiple injections of the cream each time the cream dissapears you can inject the hole again. This causes the DPC cream to spread further out from the injection point.

Drill 155cm above floor 10cm five time and push (tube of chemical stuff) to absorb damp. Tubes can be found on YT.

What about block wall with 7 year old insulation fibre in it? Any different in a 2 metre damp area?

Im guessing water will still rise up until the it hits the silicone layer which will leave the brick work below still damp?...So the idea is to find ( in my case, dig ) down to the base or footings of the wall and inject in the brick work above that ?

@tech-dry5298 7 лет назад
Dahmian John no you don't need to remove the render first. Tech-Dry dpc cream can be injected into the brick directly if you don't know where the mortar line is.

Yes you certainly can inject into the brick. The DPC cream works well in solid concrete walls

I had a issue figuring out the depth of my wall, drilled through the wall a few time and figured it out on a single wall. I hope the stuff works. I thought I had a double wall, found out I was drilling into the cellar below the room floor, next brick up, single brick wall. LOL

Is it safe to inject from the inside into the mortar of the inner skin of a cavity wall? I mean, is the chemical safe for inside use?

What if i cant see the mortar line on the cavity block as it is plastered over ?
@tech-dry5298
@tech-dry5298 4 года назад
faolteam that’s ok you don’t have to go into the mortar line we only recommend as it is easier to drill and easier blend the hole back in to the mortar line with a bit bit more mortar. Simply mark out the line at the base of the wall and and drill 80mm centres Tech-Dr DPC works through the mortar and the brick work
@dustyjames29
@dustyjames29 8 лет назад
I understand that the cream works were the holes are drilled,but what about the mortar inbetween the drilled holes,surely damp will rise through were the cream isnt injected.Can you explain how the hole brick becomes damp proof.
@1800techdryAu
@1800techdryAu 8 лет назад
Once the cream has been injected into the holes the Tech-Dry cream will spread out in a 360 deg direction. Typically penetrate half a brick up and half a brick down from the mortar line hole.

The flexible tube would be a nightmate to get in to the second brick on a cavity wall. Should provide a rigid tube for that

is it effective if i drill the brick directly? i nd to install it but my brick is about 25 cm high and cant see the mortar below.
@1800techdryAu
@1800techdryAu 9 лет назад
Adrian Hedley Hi Adrian, Yes it is however I would inject the holes twice. Once the cream has been injected once and has dissolved into the brick then inject again. It will just make sure it spreads right through and links up, mainly a precaution. Cheers

My house is on a slab and I have rising damp coming up through the slab. They think the moisture barrier failed. So I have laid dimple membrane in 3 rooms and put flooring on top of that. But I would really like to permanently stop the rising damp and be able to place flooring straight on the slab. Do you have any idea what I can do to fix it?

Go and hunt down something like heritage house websites that explain how your walls were designed to work... often the case that its when the introduction of modern 'barrier' materials happen it causes the troubles...
