To confirm some of the things u mentioned, before it came out, he did a short live explaning yes this is all mito. Mito wrote, recorded, and filmed the video (over 2 days) he explained how he didnt master or mix the song because he wanted to release it in the most raw format. Ngl i was basically bawling my eyes after watching this because i personally feel like this is first time Mito has really been humanized in a sense. We have seen him portrayed almost always in the way Ian sees Mito or just a more fantastical version of mito if that makes sense. Skins is the first time Mito himself is expressing himself completey in an mv. The last "i never asked to be like this" gave me a viceral reaction i cant explain. Like u mention as well mito isnt just a character nor just a dark or scary figure, hes a person who has experienced so much pain and trauma it really just breaks my heart. Im an emotional mess if u couldnt tell and like u said is honeslty a privilege to watch this.... also omg did u notice at the end where it says dpr visuals + ian below it mirrored it says dpr visauls + mito

This song really gut punched me. Before I one w about his bipolar disorder, I found his work to be incredibly, viscerally identifiable. And when I did learn about his disorder, it all made sense. I also have bipolar disorder and I have never before seen myself reflected so intimately and accurately as in his art. Since I’m usually more depressive than manic, the Mito character resonates with me more. I cried when he sang “I never asked to be like this.” I’ve felt like this so many times. I often wonder how my life could be different and better if I had more emotional stability. I sometimes throw pity parties and am bitter about how I feel between this and my AuDHD. The difficulty of my day to day life is ratcheted way up higher than it could be. I still have a hard time coming to terms with the fact that this is forever. My condition is chronic. My life is going to be chasing the right pill cocktail. It’s going to be telling myself that the bad feelings won’t last forever, but then I switch to a better one, knowing it won’t either. Chasing stasis. I never asked to be like this, but I am. I just have a bad brain. Tough s***, I guess. But I’m so glad that DPR Ian is raising awareness about what it is like to deal with these demons. And it makes me feel less alone. I really appreciate when you said, “It’s not just a story, Mito is a real person.” I saw an article recently where Christian addressed the potential glorification and romanticization that some fans have about his work and mental illness. That he's aware of it and consciously tries to toe the line. And here’s where I get on my soapbox a while since I have a platform. (And I’m not talking about you, just the general public/consumers of Christian’s content. It’s just important to get out there!) It's the way that people turn into armchair psychiatrists, dissecting his actions and "plot" as if he's a medical specimen or his mental illness is a piece of literature. Like they understand exactly what he must be feeling now that they've done the proper intellectual analysis. Or, on the opposite end, complete dismissal. One comment on a RU-vid reaction said "Fun fact. He is bipolar." It made me so angry. Having a serious mental illness is not a "fun fact." But I have also seen people completely shift their prejudices by seeing his work. "I used to think bipolars were bad people but then I saw this and he seems really cool" one RU-vid comment said. Wow, I didn't know that a blanket statement of viewing me as a "bad person" was actually a thing. I worry that many fans may reduce their understanding of bipolar disorder down to his experiences alone. It’s important to realize that his Bipolar I in concert with his DID means that his experience is extremely different from my own and many others, especially with the DID element. Actually, his recent divulgence of his DID explained some questions I had about his symptoms. Many people with Bipolar I do not have psychotic features, like he’s spoken about. And they don't (as far as I'm aware) experience missing chunks of time. That's the DID. I have Bipolar II. My lows are extremely low. But my highs aren’t as high. Bipolar II includes “hypomania” which is less severe than full-blown mania. Mine usually presents as an extremely uncomfortable inner vibration that makes me want to peel off my own skin, unease, irritability, and a sort of “static/wordless jabbering” all the time in my head. I don’t have senses of elation or feelings of invincibility. However, there was one single time I had a full blown manic episode in which I spent thousands of dollars on sewing supplies for a business idea that never materialized. So there’s that. Sometimes I find myself unable to watch or listen to his music or livestreams. I think it forces me to think about my own condition and puts myself in those head-spaces. But that means it’s working. It’s viscerally spot-on. I think what he is doing is SO IMPORTANT. I do, however, think that one must be considerate and open when consuming his work. I think the most important thing is to remember that he is one person, one example, of someone with these disorders. And that he is not just those disorders. He is an artist who uses his experiences to inspire and educate. To allow people to witness his inner life made visible. And for his fans to hold this gift of vulnerability, examining it while admitting they’ll never truly understand, and love it for what it is.

Ian shot the M/V in 2 days and it was when he had his episode was Mito. When Christian had his IG live recently even though he was extremely exhausted he still wanted to gift us DreaMer's this uncut demo of "SKINS" I watched the M/V and listened with airpods as Christian suggested on his live.The experience was so surreal I felt so many emotions,the music just soars and the anguish and anger when IAN looks directly at the camera. You can see and feel the full impact and the emotional rollercoaster that the switches affect Christian. To see this and then hear MITO'S voice like a warcry and such rage is just so heartbreaking 💔💔💔 I hope that Christian does take time to rest and recover after all this self sacrificing he makes with his artistry It will take its toll on him. That's what worries me the most. As I know first hand I have epilepsy and I struggle everyday with mental health issues. I have so much admiration for Christian with his incredible hauntingly beautiful music and cinematic M/V's that are masterpieces. He's a multi-faceted artist but he's a human being.❤️❤️❤️🫂✨✨ Yes Christian is the most authentic,transparent,and shows his vulnerability. He also is the most generous hearted man and does this with so much positivity and shows so much integrity. Not many artists and idols wouldn't be so open. It's also such a privilege that Christian allows us to be a part of this community and family. I just wanna take my time and appreciate you. The pauses - I gotta admit, some people who do reaction videos do that as well, but to me it seems like it's just to fangirl or something (from what I've seen). In your case - I'm SO glad you pause. You go in-depth, analyze the details, talk about them, interpret. I just wanna say if I was Ian I'd appreciate the heck out of you, because after all - art is made to be interpreted and analyzed. I'd be so sad if I made all of that, what he does I mean, and people only payed attention to me because I "look good". Obviously Christian is a very good looking man in my opinion too, but the art and rawness need to be appreciated more. I feel like he's still underrated because of that. Thank you!

I'll be honest, I did know before watching Skins that only Mito was involved in this demo mv. However I still think that even if I didn't know, none of this felt like Ian to me. I'm appreciating that Mito decided to share this song with Ian and us. I had similar thoughts about this and Nerves like they were giving me a similar vibe. For me Nerves was the about Ian 'dipping' into his manic lows and the emotions he was going through. Skins is the complete switch with Mito being present.

I’m so happy we got to see mito again and kind of see the world through his lens. Mito is actually my favorite ever because he just seems so care free especially when me and my friend got to see him live. Christian after a while ended up sharing how that concert we went to mito was present for the entire show and that made so happy especially with the way he was acting on stage (like I said before carefree) I will always remember that day. Thanks mito for giving us an amazing show to remember🖤🤍🖤

At the beginning the title was normal 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐒 and then the camera switched to ian and the title was like the opposite side as if he is another person but also the same and in this outfit he had one eye only so i think he is mito

i see this song as a duet between ian and mito, i feel it kind of like a transition from one to another and maybe that's what he's suggesting with the wavy edition that feels kinda... dizzy? does it makes sense?
