Dr. Alan Goldhamer is the founder of TrueNorth Health Center, a state-of-the-art facility that provides medical and chiropractic services, psychotherapy and counseling, as well as massage and body work. He is also director of the Center's groundbreaking residential health education program.
Articulate, inspiring and energetic, Dr. Goldhamer is one of the most pioneering and dedicated visionaries in health today. An outspoken professional who doesn't shy away from a spirited debate, he is deeply committed to helping people stuck in self-destructive cycles reclaim their ability to change their lives.
Dr. Goldhamer has supervised the fasts of thousands of patients. Under his guidance, the Center has become one of the premier training facilities for doctors wishing to gain certification in the supervision of therapeutic fasting.
Dr. Goldhamer was the principal investigator in two landmark studies. The first: "Medically Supervised Water-Only Fasting in the Treatment of Hypertension" appeared in the June 2001 issue of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics. Its publication marked a turning point in the evolution of evidence supporting the benefits of water-only fasting. The second study: "Medically Supervised Water-Only Fasting in the Treatment of Borderline Hypertension," appeared in the October 2002 issue of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Goldhamer is directing a team that is developing a prospective study, incorporating random assignment and long-term follow-up on the cost and clinical outcomes in the treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure with fasting and a health-promoting diet.
After completing his chiropractic education at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Goldhamer traveled to Australia, where he became licensed as an osteopathic physician. He is the author of The Health Promoting Cookbook and co-author of The Pleasure Trap: Mastering The Hidden Force That Undermines Health and Happiness.

I met a Tibetan lama in Nepal who did a special retreat in a sealed hut, and he didn't eat for 3 years and 3 months. He is now teaching the dharma.

Started with some 72 hour fasts about a year ago and been mostly on 18:6 daily with majority whole plant base the results are pretty incredible , lost about 50 pounds and 2 lumps have vanished . I've quit drinking alcholol mostly and wake up every day around 5 am and drink nothing but water until noon . And I'll do walking , stretching, light weight lifting, cleaning and what ever else keeps me moving. One warning before you start this, you will stop craving fast salty greasy food , you will no longer enjoy eating at fast food , just a warning for those foodies out there. I use to love fast food but just can't do it anymore even when I try. 18 hours of fasting a day with 6 hour feeding window adds up to about 2 whole days of fasting a week . Accumulates to 8 days of fasting a month in 5 months you will have achieved 40 days of fasting. I prefer this method of fasting most the time because you can be more active and does not disrupt bowel movements as much.

Its important to know that some foods are addicting just like alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, opiates...When changing your diet you should know what you are up against and here it is- Their is only about a 20% success rate that people fully and forever recover from their addictions. In other words, whatever substance including food you are dependent on, 80% will relapse/fail.
@eismscience

Yes, something like that is the depressing truth, I'm afraid. Dr. Goldhamer is pretty clear that his program is not for everybody. Thanks for sharing your input.

I’ve been relapsing over and over and I am a huge believer in Dr alan goldhamer I am really tryin to eat the veggies and fruits only but my family has junk in the house and I just crave it! Junk food is almost worse then alcohol or drugs literally I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict and I am a health nut now and I am tryin so hard to take dr alan goldhamers advice and I am struggling so hard but in the mornings I have plant based only but I get stuck in the pleasure trap at around 12 (noon) and dinner time ugh

I think relapse can be spun to be an esteem building thing. I remind my clients they got a week or two under the belt, and to apply their tools to chip off more and more sober time.

When I'm making good choices, I don't even think about chocolate or soda or my other addictions. Good choices help me to continue making more good choices and improve my health daily. If I slip, I try to follow that with more good choices so I don't stay distracted by the poor choice. Maybe I also have to decide not to go to the wrong places or be in the company of the wrong people, while I am weak. And choose to keep favorite healthy foods around me, in quantity, until my resolve is stronger. One bad choice is ONE bad choice. I can choose again. I can choose better.

Why would one have gas while fasting? Day 17 of a 50 day fast and I've farted more these passed 17 days than I do when I eat all year..

It depends on what is in that layer as you cleanse. Keep a journal if you want to analyze it. Making a record may allow you to hold on to thoughts and memories from the past that you are releasing - your 'issues in the tissues'. Maybe pick up the book Clear Body, Clear Mind by Hubbard. Good luck.

We can’t dare advise the public of what’s causing disease (what we buy to eat, drink, smoke) or what helps disease, especially if it’s natural and FREE. Fasting 🙏🏼 Exercise 🧘🏽‍♀️ And Vitamin D ☀️

I have just ended my 14 day water fast on day 11 end afster refeeding with bone broth, kimchi, avocado and two egs. I’m now having my fist bowl movement in 11 days and it’s old and hard stool. It was so painfull to release all of this from my body. Do i need to use activated charcoal of something to clean my colon out or just keep refeeding ?

Keep refeeding and add more fat. You may end up with diarrhea if too much fat, but you can play around with it.

That's why people do this with supervision. This is not an everyday process and we are not experts in everything. Your body is the only place you have to live. Get a professional involved or you will remain confused. Hopefully alive and confused.

HILARY CLINTON declared before justice that : " Only the information counts, not its origin " This is in line with Dr GOLDHAMER's statement (at 00:25:00) that : "Politicians give people what they want, and not what they need" Well, so it is a popular managing RULE to follow people's IMAGINATION (individual and collective abstract FUTUR ). Does anyone know how long it’s safe to fast on your own like is 3 days too long? Thanks 🙏
@eismscience

From what I understand, a 3-day water fast is perfectly safe if a person is not suffering from some sort of unique medical condition. However, don't take this as medical advice. Maybe start with one day and test it out.

@@RicherThanIeverbeen- you mean look around at the people who have gorged on processed foods, grains, sugar, and seed oils? Yeah, none of that is animal products. Meat is the most nutritious food you can possibly eat, and people need saturated fat. Carbs are the only macronutrient not needed from food for survival. I’m not saying don’t eat carbs, but animal products are NOT the reason we’re fat and sick.
