Ben: "You can manipulate dna, but u use it to revive dinosaurs. Why dont you cure cancer" Animo: "i don't want to cure cancer, I wanna revive dinosaurs"
Oh yes Spider-man meme reference. Also best kind of evil super genius is the one who knows they could revolutionize society and goes "nah that's boring".
I’d like to think animo was a guest at Ben’s wedding in the future. Whether he’s on parole, in chains, or on a video call I think he’d make a speech talking about his interesting experience fighting ben over the years.
Like how in the future episode he sounds sad when he learns Max is retiring that day. I think after all that’s gone on, Animo enjoys the game more than anything else.
I love that Dr Amino has become more delusional and crazy in Omniverse. You can tell that with Ben's meddling and always losing to him, it has broken him and lose his touch. It is better than 90% of the villains in Ben 10 due to them being power-hungry and not changing at all the more they meet with Ben.
Fun fact: This episode is written by Thomas Pugsley. The main writer of the Classic series and Secret of the Omnitrix movie. He also wrote the second part of the Multiverse arc in Omniverse.
Any excuse for Dwight Shultz to go nuts with his performances is a treat. It's why one of my favourite roles of his is Professor Pyg from Batman Arkham Knight.
Made me think of Mark Bonnar playing The Eleven in Doctor Who, a Time Lord whose previous incarnations are still around as their personalities, constantly vying for control with the current one and Mark really does pull off the different personalities. Needless to say, the character has a loose grip at best on his sanity and when he isn’t talking to himself that’s when you need to worry.
It's a bit sad really. He legit could become rich and famous if he just sold his inventions. Mf can bring back extinct animals, that alone would have earned him a Nobel.
It's crazy how this all started just over a stupid trophy. He really could've gone places if he hadn't let his ego get in the way. Although, it's not like he was Mr. Money Bags back then, maybe cus he didn't want anyone getting a hold of his tech, maybe cus he's a little stupid, I don't know. Still love him, though, probably the best villain in the franchise, in my opinion.
I like how Gwen mentioned “Mount Rushmore” being destroyed from the classic series, which Upchuck ate the sub-energy and destroy it. He does it again. ? Reference is from Metal Gear Solid. Doctor Animo talking to toy in end which turned out to be the future which was foreshadowing, when he appears again.
I like to think that the in universe reason for all the humor in this episode is because it's being recounted by Dr. Animo, who's crazy. Since there's no one here to correct him he's allowed to go off a bit in his retelling. Also, sending a single bug off to a control panel with two frog looking guys wasn't the best idea on his part.😂
I think the best and only possible explanation for this episode is that it is all just how Dr. Animo remembers it. He's clearly losing his mind so it's possible he remembers what happened in a sillier tone that it actually was. I'm not justifying a bad epsiode. I'm putting lipstick on a pig here.
I feel as though this episode could have at least gotten a 1 in importance since it takes place in the past and Dr. Animo does use the Technobugs again in a later episode.
That makes 4 times now that Mount Rushmore has been destroyed. - Once by Vilgax in Classic - Once by Ben in Classic - Once by Dagongax in UAF - And once by Ben in Omniverse
I believe deep down Ben sees Dr. Animo as his arch-enemy when it comes to human enemies, in all battles you can see that he loves to fight with the Doc.
honestly, makes sense he became so crazy, especially after the devoid thing and by the time of omniverse doing work on his own head, he probably accidently made himself crazy or unhinged via some sort of energy or other experiment he did on himself
I just headcannon the weird inconsistency is due to the flashback is what Animo think happen from his point-of-view and given that the poor doc is slowly going insane, he might just misremembering things.
I noticed that this is the only OV flashback (except Malware's story arc) that takes place in the fall, which slightly implies that Ben took off the Omnitrix due to the loss of Feedback
Oh good, I was scared for a second. I thought this was the episode that introduced gut rot. I really like that episode and hope it gets a full breakdown.
Out of all the sound effects that exist, the MGS Enemy Alert sound was the one I LEAST expected to be actually used in a Ben 10 episode as that one is normally used in RU-vid videos 😄
Oh that sounds so cool Plugs his tentacles into peoples’ necks and controls their bodies like puppets, even altering their voices so it sounds like he’s speaking through them?
I’d make an argument for a 1 in importance because Animo talking to his dolls does get called back in the episode where he teams up with his future self
Personally, Mount Rushmore being destroyed again is equal to the running gag that is Baumann and Pakmar's constant misfortune: overly mean-spirited, and just makes me pity them instead of laugh.
you know what could have been interesting, if Dr. Animo made his own omnitrix, but instead of aliens he could turn into his mutant animals or maybe even turning into fusions of them. i always felt that it was a real big missed opportunity for him.
Since the episode that has Gorvan show up is coming up soon, you should do a breakdown of the cutscenes in the Ben 10 Alien Force video game that introduces him.
This episode cannot be considered a 0 in importance: it tells us when and why the Plumbers came back working on Earth, the role Max had at that time and it showed us that Blukic and Driba had been on Earth since at least 5 years prior Omniverse. I'd give it a 2 instead
@@TheInkTank well, than what's the use of scores like 1 or 2 in importance if not for potentially skippable episodes but with interesting continuity additions and connections?
@@TheInkTank his obsession with mutation research and his desire to win the Verities Award. i cant remember which comic but it mainly says it in the old show the ben10 2004 version
I still keep thinking about Alternate Universes where Animo doesnt go crazy and actually gets the recognition, funding and support he needs. Develop into a full-on faction, send out henchmen to abduct/sample anything that might have interesting DNA, Kevin-Style supersoldiers if he gets his hands on alien dna.
Have you stopped to consider that 11 year old ben could have destroyed mt. rushmore a second time on purpose? For all we know he's just very well read for his age and is expressing his support for the land back movement
Hey I know you probably won’t see this but I thought of a good idea for swampfires blossom form in my opinion it’s a good idea and so I thought what if swampfire wasn’t always in a blossom form like for example it would depend on the seasons like if it was winter swampfire would be in his pre-blossom form or how he looked before he blossomed but if it was summer he would blossom and we could see this in actual episodes
It wuold have been interesting an plot were animo managed to capture some of the plumber kids thinking they are Ben and experiment with their dna to make as much creatures as he wanted
I had this idea for a video or stream you and ash get together buy stuffed animals and make stitched abominations like animo does in his cell Halloween stream!
1:01 idk how I feel about Blukic having a frog like tongue, idk seems to be taking it a step too far into Galvan’s looking like frogs which is what OV does
I actually said the same thing but cut it from the video because I didn’t want to be too much of a hater. But between Upchuck, Bullfrag, now Grey Matter by association, there’s too many aliens that can do this one specific weird thing.
@@TheInkTank when you put it like that it makes sense but it’s also a new ability a Galvan has preformed in 4 series, like it was never apart of greymatter’s skill set it just feels really weird to add it to a frog like alien so late into the franchise
@@DZR-OYa but Greymatter has also ways been more Grey than Frog, I get it’s apart of Omniverse’s style to ham things up but they could have replaced the tongue with him bashing the big with a wrench.
1:17 yeah, but if it was classic episode, i bet kuru would make it a solid 5, im just still thinking he doesn't likes omniverse that much Also, ive noticed that this episode has actually two metal gear solid references, first being the ladder and the other was the sound effect when ben was spotted by robots
It’s wild because folks have also accused me of going too easy on Omniverse and giving it higher ratings than normal. But regardless, as I always say, my opinion has nothing to do with the ratings.
