I think this (the NT use of the OT) is why I love William Hendriksen’s, “More Than Conquerers” so much. He has so many cross references.

At 19:30 and beyond, Gladd points out that we miss OT allusions in the NT because we are not steeped in the OT. So very true. Don't hate me for saying it, but AI is crazy helpful on this front. As an experiment, I ran some scenarios through ChatGPT, asking it to give me the top possible reference from EVERY OT book for Mark 13:2, using a Beale type maximalist approach to seeing allusions. I did other scenarios where I asked it to give me the top allusions from Genesis/Isaiah/Daniel/Ezekiel for each verse from Rev. 20. Obviously, some of the parallels that were 'found' are unfounded. But I could see NT use of the OT studies taking leaps forward in the next few years. Fun time to be working with God's word.

Sample: Give me the closest possible parallel from every single book of the bible (in canonical order) for Mark 13:2 ChatGPT Mark 13:2 reads: "And Jesus said to him, 'Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.'" Here are potential parallels, allusions, or themes from every single book of the Bible: 1. Genesis 19:24-25 - Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. 2. Exodus 15:5 - Pharaoh's chariots and his host he cast into the sea. 3. Leviticus 26:31 - I will lay your cities waste and will make your sanctuaries desolate. 4. Or will you flee three months before your foes while they pursue you?..." 11. 1 Kings 9:8 - And this house will become a heap of ruins. 12. 2 Kings 25:9 - He burned the house of the LORD and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down. 13. 1 Chronicles 22:8 - You have shed much blood and have waged great wars. You shall not build a house to my name... 14. 2 Chronicles 36:19 - And they burned the house of God and broke down the wall of Jerusalem and burned all its palaces with fire... 15.
