Sephora is doing a promo code for the serum! Code: STRESS with your $25 purchase, $18.50 value size of the serum! (You choose the sample, other options include Herbivore and FAB) Figured I'd add this since y'all already know I'm a fan of sampling! 😁
Your timing couldn't be better for this type of line. I've got so many stressful things going on in my life, right now. (They seem to all come in bunches 😣) I've heard you talk about Niacinamide so much, and it sounds perfect for what my complexion has been needing. I really need to do some research on the ingredients you mentioned as well. Thanks Alice.
Isn't that the truth?! I don't know why life STACKS the stress. I feel like I am either in a "fairly easy" time or "EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG" mode!! Anyway, hope things get better - stress is awful!
Oh whoa! That's an amazing field! In my field, we were doing research on the impact of pre and probiotics on the immune system - yes, can absolutely agree. Very complex!
I would love someone to put Chayote in skin care and make the effects last and perfected. We use it a lot in Mexican cuisine and when I peel it to chop up to put in my soup, just by handling that little while it totally smooths my hands out, leaves a beautiful glowy layer and totally smoothes out all wrinkles. It only lasts a little bit of time but wow if that could be perfected in a cream that would be a facelift miracle in a bottle!
So THIS is what you have been using!! Wow.. Your skin looks crystal clear and not greasy at all. Like "glass skin". I wouldn't have believed you if you said you're stressed or were sick, I would think you got 9 hours of sleep every night and 2 hours of exercise with a very healthy diet for months, haha. I am SO sorry about the bacne. I used to have them pretty bad and it was so embarrassing I would wear clothes that covered it all, making things hot and sweaty and worse.. One time I took off my sweater and a friend saw, and she went, "EWW!! WHAT DO YOU HAVE GIANT GREEN BUMPS!!" I was MORTIFIED. So sorry you've been dealing with so much stress. Glad the hardest part has passed, if that is the case. And thanks for sharing the research!! I wonder if those plants are worth taking in supplement form. I'm under stress 24/7 thanks to PTSD. T-T I'm surprised this skin care line was so effective because I tend not to believe that ingredients will work effectively unless they're higher on the ingredient list. But that just shows my ignorance on cosmetic formulations I guess!
Oh yeah, percentage of effectiveness is such an interesting topic in itself! Especially once we get into plant ingredients as then we have to discuss which part of the plant (seeds? flower? extract?) as well as the quality and freshness of the plant. No wonder skincare is so confusing though - so you have to have a basic understanding of chemistry to discuss pH/stability, biochemistry to understand how skin cells are impacted, and now...botany?! 🤯🤯 It's a lot haha!
Thanks for this review. DDG products tend to be a little out of my reach price wise for every day use, but this line looks like something that is worth the spend. The ingredients sound right up my alley. I'm in complete agreement with you re research on plant benefits. Maybe this is a good first step. We can hope, right? Thanks again for another great review. 🤓
Absolutely what I'm hoping! I believe the skincare community is learning the importance of research too - I read an article not too long ago about how younger people are showing an interest in science directly because of the skincare movement. Now THAT is an amazing side effect haha! 😂
Was so happy to see this review! I got 2 samples of the serum & just tried it tonight & actually really enjoyed it! I'm wanting to buy it lol I was thinking of just trying the trial size first then making a decision but I live life on the edge & would rather just buy the full size lol I'm on the fence about the lemon grass though.. But I'd really like to give the serum a try! I've developed some red blotchy spots on the Middle part if my cheek up close to middle of my ear like where you'd start contour & I've had it for months!!! It's only on that side so idk what it's from 🤷 hoping this will help. Thanks for the review! 💕
Happy to help! I do think it's an incredible line. I tested some other products and went right back to these - my skin looks better with this line, consistently!
Ah man, I'm wanting this. Melanie @ Mr. Kong's mom loves this line too. Game plan: step 1: use up my stuff so I can justify purchasing more. Step 2: Get it on sale to justify it even more! Thanks for sharing your research and thoughts on the goods.
lol chemistry joke lol. I haven't been on IG lately, I'm so sorry for your loss. I love that you found research on the ingredients! This sounds amazing!
The research was SO exciting! I'm glad to see plant ingredients getting more attention from the science community - we could be missing out on incredible benefits just because the data hasn't been there!
First time I see you... I love this brand and I don’t see enough people talking about it . You managed to drew my attention ... By the way, I tried the eye cream (it was a new jar just opened to be a tester ) at store and it burned like hell! And I don’t use anything with caffeine under my eyes due to some studies showing its effect on the fat cells
GREAT info.! As always, Thank You for your research, time, presentation, & being a “rat” 😘for us! You’re AWESOME! Looking forward to trying it! Glad you’re feeling better! Hugs & Blessings 2U!
Great video. I'm currently suffering from "backacne" myself. I'm pre menopausal and this is just one of the things some women deal with. Mine got so bad I wont wear a bathing suit because of the scarring. I would love a video on this issue and maybe something on how to reduce acne scars.
It's SO frustrating, especially when the acne is inflamed and hurting UGH. I'll go ahead and give you a tip for now: I use AHAs on my back (which can handle more than my face, so my not-favorite face products become reassigned for this purpose!) 3 days of AHA treatments cleared mine up, thankfully!
Fascinating. One of the adaptogens I currently use is Gynostemma tea. It works wonders for me boosting the immune system and lowering blood pressure. Never thought about topical adaptogens tho!
Haha yeah, same thought process for me! I take both ashwagandha and rhodiola rosea, but the idea of topical application was 🤯 (especially after seeing the promising research!)
I use the first aid Beauty Radiance pads the day before I got sick. They actually stung my face. My face turned a bit red. But was gone by the next day. I have never used aha's on my skin. I did get a couple of blemishes on my chin. What do you think? ...?❌
So if you’ve never used AHAs, it is possible to have some amount of purging (it’s usually a little slower than a day though, I’d say 2-3 days - at least from my own personal experience). It could have also been a reaction, which I’m leaning toward because FAB does have some potential irritants in their products. Difficult to say with certainty, unfortunately - especially since getting sick adds an extra layer of possibilities! 🙁
Oh okay, I missed that you’ve tried AHAs. Yeah what I would do is try a small area of your face (I do along my jawline) - a slight stinging is normal, but redness shouldn’t happen. And yet it HAS happened to me when my skin is already compromised, with my favorite products at that lol. Oh skin, you’re so tricky!
It's Pyunkang Yul from Korea. But it's mad costly compared to PY. You could buy the whole PY line for the price of one DG product. At least you don't have to go through the weird PY face washing ritual lol.
I had to look that brand up - interesting! Kind of reminds me of Cover FX albeit a skincare approach - started from a hospital huh. You always bring something to the table that I was unfamiliar with haha; I appreciate it! 😁
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I think that's our purpose on this planet. To help each other out. I learn new stuff from you all the time. We never stop learning in the beauty biz. I always find your GRWM vids fascinating. I'm currently using the serum from PY. It's pretty good. Milk Vetch Root extract. PY is a decent line for sensitive skin types. The goofy face washing ritual though. Oh well, it gives the line some interest. Like the old Erno Laszlo ritual, and all the splashing about with the hot soapy water. Peace.
I actually like Dr Dennis Gross’s products. Normally most brands are meh to me. Stress. I have a lightning bolt like Harry Potter on my forehead because of stress. It’s beyond skincare at this point. Botox candidate. Ok let me continue on to the video.
Alice. I would like to buy the serum for my hubby. He has horrible cystic acne and he loves to use Tea Tree oil because it helps him control it. Do you think it would be ok to mix the TT oil with the serum? I think this is the only way he’s try this if he doesn’t have to give up his TT oil.
I use TTO myself! I would say yes, but the way I would apply is: cleanse - tone - serum - TTO - moisturizer (or flip the last two, whichever works best)
