Dr. Feickert Analogue of Germany designs, engineers, and handcrafts some of the world's finest turntables and analog setup tools. In this video, we'll highlight some of the key features of their entry level Woodpecker model and walk you through the basic turntable setup.
For this demonstration we're using a KUZMA Stogi S12 uni-pivot tonearm and a Koetsu Jade moving coil cartridge. Dr. Feickert and Koetsu are available through select MoFi Distribution dealers in the USA.

All People watching here were waiting to hear the sound. What a sad ending. Man play some music. I am an ordinary man. I here to feel the sound even through my 4th grade computer amplifier. But I can tell you the quality of the sound. Today I watched so many videos like this. Only few played some records and that was very beautiful too. This video made me cry. Next time Assemble and play some records

You have the incredibly low friction bearing and high inertia platter, but then you control its speed with an inconsistent, and elastic, belt.

Does MoFi have a similar setup video for the Volare turntable? Would love to see. Would also like to know what upgrades might make sense for it, such as a power supply to replace the power brick. Thx

We haven't made one yet but it's a good suggestion. The biggest upgrades for Volare are the Derenville Magic Mat and the Linear Power Supply. Both are very worthwhile.

Funny how so much time has gone by but not a thing has changed in regards to arm design and set up. I used to run a Hadcock unipivot arm very much like this one on a custom built turntable that weighed 70 lbs. Very similar highly rigid design including the damping trough. When it was reviewed it was the only arm ever tested that had zero resonant signature in it's arm tube and it's bearing friction was also the lowest. It cost me $189.00 at the time. I'll wager my old Hadcock sounds every bit as good as this one, maybe better. I wish I still had that old rig.

I wonder if the tonearm cables put force on the tonearm itself. I ask this because it's a unipivot design, and the tonearm cables doesn't seem "soft''.

If you watch at 6:06 the cable is moved from the transport position to a place where it puts no pressure on the tonearm.

I read that VPI another 'high end' 'table company uses the 4 tiny wires as an antiskate system..... at least with some of their models.

This video is for the Woodpecker not the Volare! I goofed wondering why the platter looks different from the aluminum Volare! I like the gold weights better on this one! Is that available on the Volare? Haven't seen it as an option. What is the difference between the 2 platters? Thank you, larry

The brass weights are part of the Inertia Platter upgrade and it's only available on the Woodpecker, Blackbird, and Firebird models. These models also use Delrin as opposed to the aluminum found on the Volare platter. With the Volare the record mat you use will make a big difference to the sound. I suggest checking out the Derenville Magic Mat.

When i see this i miss the old days of fully automatic direct drives with biotracer tonearms...... Certainly this is a high quality deck which will come with a price tag way beyond what the average Joe can afford. So its one more precision made and massiv build stone age deck with zero ease of handling and comfortless for the affluent noble consumer.

it's a hobby. some guys spend big bucks on bass boats. motorcycles.... but to me long ago with an original AR I learned that machines ( full auto T'table ) handle the critical needle / LP contact far better than my hands. especially if 'enhancements' are in use. I used a mid 1970's Pioneer full auto for 40 years, still working great to me. THAT is a product. Got a Thorens full auto just as Christmas / retire gift to myself.

I would have liked to see a stand alone motor not mounted in the plinth, this will transfer motor noise to the tone arm an cause coloration of the sound.

That all depends on the implementation. The Feickert motor is very well isolated. I've taken stethoscopes to platters of turntables that have stand alone motors and heard much more vibration coming through than this Feickert has.

Install the belt? You mean to tell me it's not a direct-drive turntable? Why not just add an RCA Victor horn to it when you're at it. How stupid are you people asking to hear it LOL! It can't sound any better than the device you're listening to it on! Do you also want to see an ad to show you the picture of a superior TV on the one-year watching now? Idiots. Really? A wire coming out of the top of the back of the tonearm? Oh no, that's not going to impede its movement at all is it? Set it to 1.38 grams but never mind the wire impeding the tone arms lateral movement

At $18,000, with arm, it's just another super overpriced table which can be equaled by tables costing FAR, FAR, FAR less. However, listen to the sappy music, get your favorite Credit card and go into deep, deep debt. And yet, there are so many VERY overpriced tables now days. It has become PATHETIC !!!
