I set up today a Dr F.woodpecker at Ultimate audio, with a Hana SL cartidge in a jelco tonearm, and i only could say that its an amazing turntable with a fantastic sound.Love it.
After living with a Volare for a few months, I'm really surprised no one ever mentions a few quirks (that's putting it politely) for Dr F designs. First, there are no audio or power connections on the rear of the table. The audio is hard wired into the tone arm, so you're stuck with whatever the arm comes with, and the power connector is on the bottom of the table in a spot that's truly difficult to reach for one person. Since the tables are very heavy, with extremely sharp pointed feet, you are likely to put deep gouges in whatever it is resting on when you lift the table struggling to plug it in My dealer says that all Dr. F tables are that way, which he agreed is a bad design.
