I’m 60 & hit my protein target 🎯 every day!! I’m super fit, strong 💪🏿 & VIVACIOUS!!

I will say that when I started ditching as many carbs as possible and increased and increased and improved my protein and fat intake, I feel 100% better than those days in which I indulge carbs. Remember people, carbs are not your body’s favorite energy source, fat is your body’s favorite energy fuel. There are no essential carbs. Go weep if you don’t like my comment.

Insulin is a driver of mTor. Calories don’t spike insulin. Carbs do. Therefore, I’d have no problem believing that the over consumption of “lean” meat/protein when eaten with a high carb diet (50+ grams a day for humans) could shorten your lifespan. Just avoid the carbs and eat some fatty protein like humans evolved doing. As you age, eat even more unless you want to waste away. My opinion.

At 2:33 Dr. Lyon says you need a ? (bowlis ? ) of leucine. I can't make out what Dr Lyon said? It sounded like a bowlis, but what is a bowlis or what did she actually say ? Please HELP if you know what she said. TY for a VERY informative video ❗

I eat all the time just after training and then i go OMAD on days i don't train. I tried to do OMAD on training days aswell but i really didn't get my full potentiale of muscles that way.

Interesting considering Longo and Sinclair both suggest shutting down mTor as the key to longevity and they both reflect it in their youthfulness. How old is Gabrielle?

Yes, I was thinking the same. If you watch a video of Dr Gabrielle from just 5 years ago, you will see that she has aged very quickly in a short time, but I do not want to stay with mere associations, all longevity experts recommend moderating protein consumption as well as its sources.

She looks horrible.

I agree but let's not ignore the fact that Sinclair dyed his hair and probably got botox. Look at videos of him from 4 years ago vs now.

@@JDEG100 In general people seem to age much faster today because camera resolutions keep getting exponentially better. Also, lighting is everything. Also, even longevity experts agree that protein intake should increased as we age for various reasons.

I love weight training but anecdotally, almost everyone who has been into bodybuilding for 10-20+ years (hypertrophy, high protein, eating for >14 hours a day) looks older than their age.

Like anything else, over-doing muscle training, which is what "body builders" do, may not be best for overall health. Of course, many also take various steroids and such crap, which is already known for being bad for health. But i have been training muscles naturally, and not overdoing it, for 40 years. I am 74 years old, much more muscular than any friends around my age (but I am no Schwarznegger), and strangers normally think I am in my early-mid '60s. Just stay natural, eat well (none of that vegan crap), avoid sugar, and don't go crazy about strength training.

Look at Mike O’Hearn he still looks good and eats lots of meat and protein. My understanding is he has never abused his body with drugs

* (Its either sarcopenia longer life OR more muscles better health but shorter life) trade off Only hope rapamycin and ursolic acid being tested now might prevent sarcopenia and still give you longevity.

So basically, she’s saying that Dr. David Sinclair, Harvard scientist, and expert on longevity doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I find this so frustrating! Plus, she’s saying that you don’t need protein according to doctors who say you should stay away from animal protein, but that’s not what the scientist particularly David Sinclair are saying he saying you definitely can get plenty of protein through a plant-based diet. I don’t think that she’s being accurate with her description as to what he is trying to say.

Holy shit does she seem to have a bias. Of course mTor hasn't been observed in human control trials. How long have we understood mTor and we would need to observe people living their whole lives.

Taurine stimulates mTor and yet Taurine increases lifespan in mice.. Hmm
@jaym9846
@jaym9846 7 месяцев назад
Aren't BCAA the main stimulator of mTOR? In mice and rats, lower BCAA result in longer health & life spans. See Dr Lamming's work.
