Dr. Sarah Hallberg is a Medical Director at Virta Health, as well as the Medical Director of the Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program at Indiana University Health Arnett, a program that she created. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Clinical Lipidology and also a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist from the ACSM. She also developed the non-surgical weight loss rotation for Indiana University School of Medicine where she is an adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine.

This is the way we ate when I was a child and then came along convenience and processed foods. And the lies about fat being bad for us turned us into pharmaceutical dependent sheeple. Thankfully, people are waking up to the way she should have been eating all along. Thank you for your wonderful series on diabetes and a ketogenic lifestyle. Just discovered this amazing breakfast: I medium green apple, diced and pan fried in a little butter, cinnamon & nutmeg. Then pour over an egg mixed with 2 tablespoons of cream and 2 tablespoons of almond meal. Cook gently. Keeps me going for hours. No need to snack.

I thought if you were insulin resistant you have already swollen fat cells. So you need to shrink the fat cells? So why would i want to consume More Fat???

From Northern California: I Love your Worldwide Classroom here on RU-vid. I have been sharing links of your inspiring videos (along with a few from other teachers) with friends whom could benefit. I pitch such clips as food for further research. I view you as one of the Shining Lights of a new emerging Alternative Medical Paradigm (that I hope will someday be "mainstream"). I want to hear about more doctors telling their patients about this keto diet options (instead of saying to diabetes patients that you need the carbs)! I would love to hear more doctors telling their patients about the benefits of cutting out sugars, alcohol and carbs from the standard USA recommended diet that has been promoted to the masses.

I'm 54 yes old. I grew up having chocolate cake for breakfast and icecream for dinner and ate pasta like it was air. I've been on keto for two years now so dont tell me it isnt sustainable.

We eat crackling pork skin and chicken skin as snacks in the Philippines. Pork intestine barbecue marinated in garlic, salt, pepper and vinegar no sugar, chicken heart, chicken ass, chicken liver, chicken feet

I just started watching Virta health and I'm surprised they promote breakfast as a third meal when most other keto docs say to skip it.

I was told by my doctor not to follow the ketogenic diet because it's unhealthy. He said I should eat a balanced diet so I tried the Agoge diet and I'm starting noticing less belly fat really fast.

Your bloodwork will tell you and your Doctor if you’re on the right path. You can lose weight on most diets but not all offer good health. It will be interesting to see what changes your diet has made to your cholesterol etc…

Steve Harris You have to be careful with the amount of fruit and, to some extent, vegetables that are being consumed. Starchy veggies and fruit can both raise blood sugar levels.

I've been keto for a month and I worry that I don't get enough protein. My understanding is that the Virta plan says to eat when you're hungry, but I'm rarely hungry. I'm using CarbManager to track my macros, and if I only eat when I'm hungry I'm way low on all my macros and calories. Am I missing something?

Where I live it's very hard to find keto ingredients and if I do it's way too expensive especially to feed an entire family. To top it off who has the time to prepare all of these crazy dishes?

The idea is you become satiated so you don't feel like eating as much, that's where the comment "it's not calorie restriction" comes from. But I still eat too much if I am not careful.
