The thing about infrared heaters it doesn't heat the air directly no it heats the objects like you for example or certain surfaces

I have a couple of these. They are a little bit directional leaving some areas warmer and others colder so you may need to point it but it is a wonderful heater as once it is on you ignore it. Yes it doesn't heat air it heats objects. Then the objects once warmed help maintain the heat in the room. I love this item!

Glad you enjoyed the video. We are in the same vicinity. Our electricity hasn't gone up that much - thankfully! Our house all electric (no natural gas heat), so we supplement our heating with a wood stove and a pellet stove.

The example shown has the heater on a bench. Heating objects in visual line of the heater there won't help warm objects under the bench. Placement is very important to get just the right value of this heater for any space. I keep mine on the floor so it heats objects near my feet and the rest is in turn heated as heat rises.

I think it would've been a little more helpful to do the review of the heater in the normal mode instead of eco. It might have done the job if it wasn't throttled back from the eco setting. Not trying to be a hard ass but I still dont know how good it works on full power.
@PurpleCollarLife
@PurpleCollarLife Год назад
Thanks for watching and leaving the comment! We tried it in normal mode too. It definitely helps take the chill off in that large unfinished basement area. But it isn't designed to heat an area that large/uninsulated.

I'd like to know if you can use it in your bedroom while you sleep? Will the sound and light keep you up at night?
@PurpleCollarLife
@PurpleCollarLife 2 года назад
I suppose it depends on how sensitive a sleeper you are. It does definitely create a glow in the room, and there is some noise from the fan. Personally -I’ve never tried to sleep in the room where this heater is used. I do wonder if the light would keep me awake - I like it pretty dark. But the noise definitely would not bother me. I prefer a fan or the air conditioner running.

That’s a great question - thank you for asking. The answer is no. It does not automatically come back on. Even though the Power button is still pushed in, you have to press the right hand button (by Eco) to turn the heater back on. At least, that was my experience with the unit I had. Fun fact: these units aren’t a true infrared heater. The company who makes them lie and they use a standard ptc (ceramic) heating coil in the bottom for most of their output, and a single quartz element where you can see it to make you think it’s a full infrared heater. How do I know this, I had one that the quartz tube quit in it but somehow it kept blowing out warm air, so I tore it down. These units are basically a 20 dollar heater being sold at a major premium….complete false advertising.

Most people don't know there is zero difference between 120 volt electric heaters. ALL of them have a max rating (by law for safety) of 1500 watts. Some may be less wattage, like the compact models, but the max amount of power is always limited to 1500 watts. Since electric heaters are about 99%+ efficient converting electricity to heat, that means there is zero difference between any model heater. Power(heat) out is heat out. Period. Save your money buying "name brands" and just buy a UL listed model with 1500 max watts.
@PurpleCollarLife
@PurpleCollarLife Год назад
I've heard that. But I've also experienced that even though two heaters may be 1500 watts, sometimes the design of the heater does make a difference.
