Is the most brilliant doctor of TV really losing his observational skills?
From House M.D. Season 8 Episode 18 'Blowing the whistle': Soldier (Arlen Escarpeta) returning from overseas, accused of treason after releasing a video showing soldiers killing civilians, collapses and is taken to Princeton-Plainsboro. The cancer part isn't true though. He wanted them to stay out of it so he could get a drug shunt in his brain iirc, and they ruined it for him. He was trying to trick the doctor at the other hospital.

I don't get The last part , isn't st.John's warts decrease drugs level in the blood? Why its mentioned as its the opposite? Someone please explain He said he took acetylcysteine , which is used for acetaminophen overuse. But with st johns wart, acetaminophen already low level not high.

Yes, although they either “medically happen or could medically happen”. In the interview regarding that, Hugh Laurie did not specify which cases are based on real cases.

They didn't invent any medical conditions that don't exist, if that's what you're asking. They have sometimes exaggerated symptoms and prevalence for dramatic effect, though.

They do have medical professionals on script days to discuss as to whether or not they're accurate enough to pass through to screening however the amount of tests mentioned to be used on patients is far more than what happens irl due to Drama purposes. The symptoms as Dar S above said are the majority of the time quickened and exaggerated (i.e throwing up blood etc) however all of the terms and procedure names/ surgeries used are real terms, meds, procedures, and surgeries,

@@noname-qw9td , to be fair, in the show, most patients are admitted in extreme circumstances to the ER, and those circumstances are more common in real life than most might think. Oftentimes, many with extreme medical incidents that require ER visits either cannot even call 9-1-1, do not even recognize that they are suffering medical emergencies, or sadly even have death wishes and do not wish to seek medical treatment.
