Q&A was great, attendees knew what to ask for. Wish the sound quality could have been made better. I've a feeling that this talk is meant to be comprehensive yet missing out that quality, that former PM (now re-elected PM) should be heard clearly. Great effort nevertheless :)

Malaysia does not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking; however, it is making significant efforts to do so; in 2014, amendments to strengthen existing anti-trafficking laws, including enabling victims to move freely and to work and for NGOs to run protective facilities, were drafted by the government and are pending approval from Parliament; authorities more than doubled investigations and prosecutions but convicted only three traffickers for forced labor and none for sex trafficking, a decline from 2013 and a disproportionately small number compared to the scale of the country’s trafficking problem; NGOs provided the majority of victim rehabilitation and counseling services with no financial support from the government (2015)

Standing or sitting is quite subjective. Because even in Malaysia, some school teachers prefer students to sit down when asking. So it's not really 'disrespect', but rather a difference in ethics.

it is sad to realize that even when we keep saying what Najib had done, but nothing can be done to him. What make him so powerful if not there are lustful people who are following him for the money. This is so sad. Hope the will be changes in the near future,

the greatest thing about Malaysia than any other Muslim country or even other ASEAN countries is that we are very docile and do not believe in coup de'tat but we do change the administration according to the constitutional law. Unlike other countries whom their leaders to step down by force,overthrow the government using military coup,riot and mass murder etc we wait until the next GE to change the entire course. This calmness and docility and soft-heartedness however has been taken advantage by the heartless,ruthless leader.

The London audience is a docile lot. The old man is very capable of blaming all others except himself for all that's wrong with Malaysia today. I am flabbergasted at the way he answered the removal of the Lord President during his tenure as the PM. He squarely blames the King and the AG then. How on earth the audience accepted his explanation without crucifying him? Come on! even a first year law student knows well that in a country that practises Constitutional monarchy system of government, its the executive that have all the power to rule the country. The monarch is just the figurehead. If the King at that time was irritated by the letter written by the Lord President, as PM, the old man should have handed a copy of the Federal constitution of Malaysia to His Majesty the King and told the latter about his position vis a vis the limitation placed on him to remove the Lord President at the flimsy reason of the LP writing a letter to the King. The old man is pulling wool through your eyes and the audience in London are imbeciles to accept his explanation. Finally, I say podah to the old man.
@arshadhamid3661
@arshadhamid3661 7 лет назад
I say podah to you. Dr M already said it was his fault for what he did to the monarchial power in the nation and now it cannot be changed. and at least whateverhe had done, this nation never been in a stink pit like it is now. so again Podah

The problem with New UMNO BN that you created was it is race base and with quota by race for all position from school to government to politician in your cabinet. You never accepted meritocracy for all citizen regardless of race but base on their merit and capability instead of only a single race which is the majority gets more than the minority. A good leader will protected the minority interest and pick the best to lead not base on their ethnicity. I hope you can learn from your mistake and change the system you build because the people give you a second chance to make it right. Three generation including me were destroyed because of your administration & decision. I knew this day will come when god give you a longevity to live and see what you have done to the country. You are not the savoir but the architect of the problem who we believe are the key to solve it.

Brilliantly dodged the question regarding bumiputera rights like the seasoned politician he is. Skirting topics potentially upsetting to his constituents is the hallmark of any politician worth his salt. Sure, he'll weigh in on Israel and bash America, but god forbid ever suggesting the dissolution of Malaysia's nonsensical affirmative action policy or even discussing the matter in public.

All this loss of money was facilitated by the international finance community in the West made up of the western treasuries which bend over backwards to attract this money and the banksters , banks which are the biggest launders of illegal gains in whom all have bank accounts. PS Najib is a good pupil of the ex PM. How can he stand there and say boldly what he says of the current state of Malaysia.

Dr M introduces the ISA which is detention without trial, and has the nerve to complain now about the same law that Najib has reintroduced. I think Najib is a criminal but it's a bit rich of Dr M to bring this topic up when he did the same thing.

I wonder whether he is aware that while he is talking about some serious crimes being committed by a top Malaysian political leader, people in the university hall must be thinking why the heck is this former Prime Minister telling all these stories to people here in London when he should be making a police report if he is so certain about those allegations he is making? I believe the well educated will be able to see that this old man is talking a lot of nonsense. The unimpressed in the audience would also notice he is not at all acting like he should be, a respectable and responsible statesman. I must admiit I can't help noticing that unmistakable reflections of hate on his face.

BUMIPUTRA IS AN INDIAN WORD NOT A MALAY WORD. TUN MAHATHIR IS HALF INDIAN IN WHICH HE NEVER ADMITS HE IS ONE. THE PURE ORIGIN INDIAN AND CHINESE WHO ARE MALAYSIAN CITIZENS WERE NEVER GIVEN THE CHANCE TO RULE THATS THE REASON WHY MALAYS FEEL UNSAFE. IN FACT THEY WILL BE SURPRISED IF AN INDIAN OR CHINESE RULED MALAYSIA IT MAY BE BETTER AT SOME POINT FOR ANOTHER RACE TO BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO RULE. MALAYSIA WAS FOUNDED BY THE PORTUGUESE, BRITISH AND DUTCH WHO WERE THE FIRST PEOPLE WHO RULED .THE ABORIGINES WERE THE LEAST OF THE MINORITIES WHO CALL MALAYS OR BUGIS ...

When he was PM in the 80s and 90s, Malaysia was very well known on the international marketplace for the 30 percent upfront requirement as minimum condition for approval of mega project contracts in Malaysia. This was the bad image of Malaysian government during his era, the worst of corruption ever!!! Look at his poker face, a thick skin liar he is.
