@@HarryHas I've got the black American hi-shine brogue shoe and a pair of Chelsea boots. Really love both of them. I also prefer the black stitching. It's more versatile :)

I just hope these sorts of videos can help bring marketshare over to Solovair, I'd hate to see another one of the few brands out there still creating quality goods at sensible prices go under. All we'd have left is the cheaply mass manufactured /w overseas labour stuff.

On the sole replacement question, I had my Dr Martens 1461s resold last year by The Boot Repair Company. They have partnered with Doc Martens so if you go to the DMs site you can find the link there. It cost £81, which wasn't cheap, but they did a great job and they put a free pair of yellow and black stripey socks in the box which I thought was a nice touch.

Slowly moving away from sneakers as well. Try Clarks, Florsheim and COS (expensive but worth it.) I would say All Saints but sometimes they are too goddamn expensive and not worth it.

Thanks to your suggestion, I started wearing loafers a few weeks ago to level up my look and I've been getting so many compliments! I never thought I would be able to pull it off 😅 I went with a pair of GH Bass lug sole Weejuns in the wine colorway. I may have to pick up a pair of black Solovairs next for versatility. My biggest problem with loafers is that they tend to have a narrow toebox in combination with a wide heel area. Having duck feet (wide toebox, narrow heel) I had to look for ages to find a pair of loafers that kind of work for me. I finally settled for a pair of Vagabond black chunky loafers and they look very cool. A bit too casual for some outfits, but perfect for looser street style outfits.

At least here in the states there is quite a significant price difference, while the docs are only 150$, the solovair loafers are 200$.

Harry, you might wanna get heel protector pads/liners to save your Achilles and the shoe from all the rubbing if you are gonna wear em tight. Also if the loafers a bit loose they help pad out and add traction to a sock if you wear em.

I recently got the docs in Crazy Horse so I'm definitely going for a more casual look. Gotta say, breaking them in has been really tough. I can't recommend them for comfort. I don't even have wide feet and the toe box feels tight, so I can't see the solovair working for me if it's even narrower. I'll definitely consider other styles from their range though.

Glad you enjoyed it mate. I think the solovairs are a bit narrower so I wouldn’t go on your doc size necessarily. Solovair are really helpful when it comes to sizing though so send them a message if you are unsure

Have just bought a pair of Solovair! The seem to be alright length wise. My big toe is just slightly hitting the top of the shoe. Do you think this means they might be too small? They have a slight slip at the heel, so worried if I half size up it will slip too much at the back.

If your toe is hitting the end of the shoe they sound too small. Maybe go up half a size. They won’t stretch length ways. Send Solovair an email or message on instagram and ask their advice. They are very helpful and will guide you

Had an awful experience with the Solovair loafers tbh. Maybe I got a bad copy cos the welt seemed to attach to the sole right under where the ball of my foot on my left foot is, so I constantly felt it as I stepped and it hurt like a bitch. Tried it with several insoles and it never solved the problem. Put up with the pain for months but eventually just gave up. The leather never really got softer either tbh and I had absolutely mad callouses on the side of my big toes. Shame because they are such a sexy shoe. I may still give the Gibsons a go before writing the brand off.

@@HarryHasI got the tassel loafer in black! Unfortunately, I went too large, my sneaker size is UK10, and I went UK9.5 for the loafers, but I think I should have gone for a UK8.5 tbh. but I tried them on with a pair of insoles I had and they fit pretty much perfectly with no discomfort, so I'm actually considering keeping them. This is my 3rd pair of loafers ever and out of the box these have by far been the comfiest fit (with the insoles)
