I was 10 years old in 1968 when Dr. King was assassinated and I remember over in another neighborhood big clouds of smoke from a building that had been set on fire after the news of Dr. King's death . I was scared to go out of my neighborhood because of all that was going on during those first few days . This is my first time seeing this and it did bring back those memories , my mom went to view Dr. Kings body , but she wouldn't let me and my brother's go because of the long lines that were there on into the night ( Just like the way it was when President Kennedy's body was in state in the Capital and those crowds ) and she didn't want us out late into the night . I did see Dr. King's funeral on tv ( which was on all of the networks ) and to see all those who came to Dr. King's funeral like Sammy Davis Jr. Bobby Kennedy , Jackie Kennedy , Ethel Kennedy ( Bobby's wife ) Eartha Kitt , Dianne Carroll , Nancy Wilson , Ozzie Davis , Ruby Dee , Harry Belafonte , Mahalia Jackson , Aretha Franklin , Berry Gordy , Stevie Wonder , Dianna Ross and others that attended his funeral , it was a like a who's who that came and that is one thing that I do remember and seeing this really brings me back to what was a such a sad day for all of us who were there to witness it in 1968 , one thing that I will never forget !
