Crazy that I watched this (and all your other college videos) sophomore year of high school. Fast forward now to 2016 and I'm getting ready move in two months. So bittersweet 💚
If your college is in the Midwest bring clothes or ALL SEASONS. I can not stress it enough. The weather changes like crazy. It can be 95 and sunny one day and the next 75 and storming and the next week it's in the 30s everyday.
OMG yes! I'm planning on going to college in North Carolina and I was visiting the campus for a week and one day I would be in shorts and I tank top, but the next day it was raining and sort if chilly and I would have killed for some jeans
Katelyn Leigh I was just about to say don't listen to that seasonal stuff if it doesn't apply to you. I live in Michigan the only time its guaranteed not to snow is summer
Im a Senior in high school and will be going to college in the fall and these videos are so helpful for me! And i know ill be watching these videos again in the July!
hi meghan! i'm a rising senior this year and this summer has been filled with stress about applying to college and getting into college, but these videos have made me feel A LOT less stressed about the process, and way more excited, so thank you so much for making these videos, it's making this nerve wracking process a ton easier! xo
Actually Im exactly 13 but i loveee videos people make about college. When Im older Im moving to California for college and right now Im only going into high school...
you're so awesome. like the second a new video pops up, i get way too excited and start watching. and then to cope with the times that you don't upload for awhile, i go back and watch all your previous videos. yup.
This is so helpful! I am going to university next year and I am the first in my family to do so and having advice from someone who has been is really great!
You should actually be saving money now if you plan on going to college right after high school. College tuition in America these days is pretty high not including all the other costs of attending college (like food, personal items, etc.). I would recommend you ask your parents if they can start a college savings account for you! That way you avoid debt and stress once it's time for you to actually go to college! :)
ymm... question. If I am like an international student, and I have 12 h by plane to home, then what I should take? btw I am 15, just curious cuz I plan to study in USA
Me too, I just turned 16, but I'm from the USA and I'm planing on going to Europe. In the USA u basically just need a good amount of shorts and jeans and then t shirts and a couple jackets or sweater. But that basically depends on exactly where u r gana be. I hoped this helped :)
I think I'm gonna go for Ivy League. Or Pomona. But there is a lot of Indian in USA universities. So you will fell comfortable. I'm scared, cause there is not a lot Polish people... Karan Partap
Im glad you appreciate us younger viewers watching this even though we cant contribute lol. Im almost 15 going into sophomore year so i dont really have to watch these yet but they get me really excited about college and make me feel more reassured about preparing for it. You give such good advice!
I'm about to start my senior year of high school and I honestly can't wait until college. This video was super helpful and makes me so excited for next year! Please keep making college videos. :)
I'm 13 & I'm really looking forward to going to college!! I'm obsessed!! So I'm starting to see what I need earlier in time.. Just to plan it all out 😉
you SAVED my life. I'm moving out to college in about 2 weeks, starting my freshman year and now with your stuff on the down bar i know that target has cute comforters for very cheap. Thank you
I'm 14 and I live in Australia where we don't even have college, but I still watch and LOVE these college advice videos and now I want to go to America for college after school reaalllyyyyy bad because of Meghan!
I agree! I think it works best if each person buys different stuff for the room for both to use (one person brings fridge, another brings microwave; one person brings lamp, another brings bean bag, etc). That way it is clear who keeps what but you each contribute.
THANK YOU! This video is literally exactly what I need! I leave for my freshman year in less than a month and you are such an inspiration. You're the best
thank you so much for this series! im going to college in about 2-3 weeks and i SUPER nervous. These videos are super helpful especially this one! keep them up LOVE YOU MEGHAN!
This doesn't apply to me either, but I still LOVE them. I've been out of college for 3 years, and you just crack me up, and they're not boring even though they don't apply to me!
I leave for college next week and I'm moving 16 hours away....I'm nuts I know....AND I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO! Thank you so much for not waiting until September to put it up. & THANK YOU FOR TONS OF HELP!
I love this series even though I still have 2 years until college. I love all your videos Meghan! You are my favorite youtuber! I love your personality and all your advice and makeup videos!
I start college in the fall and this video is so helpful!!!! I'm going to watch it again to take notes on everything that I know I will need. Thank you soooo much!!!!
I'm so glad you've been doing these videos because I start college this fall and I'm quite nervous! I find out my roommate in a week, I hope they don't suck.
It's so bad for me to watch these videos because it makes me so excited for college and I still have my senior year! BUT I still love them! I'm so looking forward to decorating and organizing my dorm room! Thank you so much!!!
Also I think it is AWESOME that you are doing this! I really wish I had someone like you who had videos up about college when I started it because I was so nervous and worried about it that I was honestly fully packed like a month before classes started!
I love this angle you are filming at! The natural lighting is my favorite! Thank you SO much for making these college videos! I'm going to be a freshman this fall! soooo excited! =]
If you can't find a twin XL duvet cover you love I totally recommend buying a king/queen and sewing it to fit your bed. It's the easiest sewing project ever and if you buy a king you usually have enough left over fabric for a pillow case or two :)
thank you!!!! im a junior in highschool right now, so im going to rewatch these next year and the year after that because they are SO HELPFUL!!!! thank you SO MUCHH!!!
My friend bought the VS Pink sheets not on sale for her dorm and lived on campus for 1 year. I agree with getting ones that are cheap! Great video as always Meghan!
I actually went to visit the college I'm going to, Sam Houston State University, two days ago. And let me just say, that visit really turned on my college spirit and for these past few days, I haven't thought about anything except for how my life in college would be like. I'm a high school senior, and in one week, I will start the last semester of high school and I am excited to be graduating soon. This video was nice and I look forward to my freshman year in college! :D
OMG MEGHAN! I love love love these videos!! I am fourteen years old and I am not going to collage any time soon but I love these advice videos!! I can't wait for college! xx
Most people want to keep their mini fridges all throughout college. They are not cheap but they are great for apartment living too! A lot of schools have affiliate companies that rent fridges to students in the dorms. I would recommend talking to your roommate BEFORE you move in together to see what the other person is bringing. This also makes it very clear in the end who owns what and what inexpensive items you can buy together.
Aah I'm going to college in under two weeks and I was totally freaking out about what to bring. This video was fantastic and made me feel so much better
I'd love to see a video where you go through what you had in your emergency and earthquake preparedness kits! Also great advice, I'm getting ready for my sophomore year of college as well and agreed with everything you were recommending!
when you mentioned "I'm only 13, I'm not going to college!!" I was like " damn, shes talking about me, but I'm 15. " I've watched almost all Dr. Meghan's videos, lots of advice (:
I'm leaving for college in late September and am in a triple res hall! This video was perfect timing- I bought some cute bedding yesterday and took your advice about the comforter! :) I am super worried about the amount of space I'll be stuck with and all I can think about is the amount of stuff I'll have to stick into containers and boxes from the container store somewhere in my tiny room! Thank you sooooo much!
If you put a soda tab over the hanging part of the felt, skinny hangers, you can layer hangers while only taking up the space for one hanger, but you can layer about three or four
i recommend just leaving all your clothes on their hanger! (if you're driving) just put it all in a box or suitcase you might have to fold the stuff in half but it makes unpacking SUPER QUICK! and easy!
I'm so nervous for college! I'm leaving in a week and I don't know what I packed was good enough so this video REALLY helped me out a lot. Thank you very much!
These videos are so helpful!! Thanks Meghan! I'm looking forward to a sorority rush video, as I've always been interested in Greek life but want to know more!
