@@dorsetboronia4551 Absolutely not. Real Aussies are bogans who do not have a single library card because they hate reading, just too much hard work giving them a headache. Real Aussies are loud, drink a lot, swear a lot. I estimate that people like this Mason fella constitute about 5% of the Aussie population.
This video is a gem after I watched the whole presentation. Dr.Mason generously shared his prized knowledge for us viewers to achieve excellent health. Now I'm one of his ardent fans.
“Ardent” is the perfect word! I am an ardent fan too! I think he is THE BEST of the keto/carnivore docs. He is such a great speaker (no uhs or awkward lapses or straying off point) who conveys reams of understandable information in every answer and/or lecture. He is THE BEST!
Ever since I read "the salt fix" by Dr. DiNicolantonio. Since then I eat as much salt as I want, I drink salt water every day, and finally I no longer have swollen hands during summer. My blood pressure has remained the same. Of course it is important to buy high quality salt, unbleached and without any chemical additives.
Dr. Mason..is the bomb.. I Love all of your videos .. Thank you for all that you do ..it inspires me to continue on in this journey of healing and transforming amidst the fallacies of this modern world.
Dr Paul Mason, one of my favourite Dr on topics of metabolic syndrome & insulin resistance. He simplifies the information so that we can easily understand.
I love to listen to Paul Mason, I always learn something. Keto/low carb helps me with PCOS and arthritis, I recommend this to people with these health issues
Paul Mason is always wonderful to listen to. What made this video exceptionally worthwhile is that the questioner simply asked questions, briefly and succinctly. He never tried to insert his own personality of thoughts -- just let Paul Mason talk.
Thank God for subtitles. I could understand Paul just fine, but the Indian fellow, well, I sometimes had to take a peek at the subtitles. Graphics were redundant. The questions were actually quite solid.
Every time I’ve had sex for the last ten years I’ve got a uti. I’m with the same person. I’ve been on antibiotics many times and regularly take potassium citrate to try to stop the bacteria from having the acid environment ecoli loves. I’d tried so many ways to control it, couldn’t drink tea, soft drink etc up to 36 hours after sex, and had to wear adult nappies several times a year. After going Carnivore 6 weeks ago, I’ve had sex several times and haven’t had one single uti!!! This is the first time in ten years that I haven’t retained water and burned painfully after weeing 50 mls at a time for days after sex. I’ve always drunk litres of fluid per day but now only drink water. I used to consume lots of sweeteners in those litres, but different ones and the type didn’t seem to make a difference. I actually started Carnivore for my mental illness, chronic pain and weight but it’s a lovely side benefit that my chronic uti appears to be in remission (or gone?).
How can we support the work of this doctor? Is there a possible way for the society to donate to his work in order for him to broaden his lectures and actually teach a whole team of doctors to find new ways of reversing diseases instead to leaning on mediaction that is only treating symptoms?
Dr Mason is awesome, very knowledgeable and explained the health issues clearly, the interviewer should respect him by DOCTOR not by first name basis ✌️😊
Wanna give a shoutout to whoever thought of adding subtitles to this video. This helps for us people not familiar with the Australian accent. Hope this'll be the standard for future videos because YT's Closed Captions suck.
Amazing lecture! I'm down 105 lbs. in 10.5 months thanks to brilliant doctors like Paul Mason, Jason Fung, Pradik Jamnadas, Ken Berry and Eric Berg. I feel 20 years younger, too!
Why isn't this main stream information for people . It's taking so long . I think people have heard this information but refuse to make a change. Truly then people are addicted to cheap carbs and sugars .
To be fair, that is the point of having cheap carbs in the first place. The information is there, but they are still having specific foods and health related ideology shoved in their faces. Think about it, assuming you watch TV and are in the US, how many commercials do you see telling viewers that sugar-packed cereal is part of a healthy breakfast compared to commercials that give informative information on health and the metabolism.
It's not mainstream because there are no profits to be made from big pharma and the food industry. Big pharma, in particular, would lose billions of dollars if the majority of people would rely on natural, whole foods instead of the poisonous drugs that most doctors "order" their patients to take. It's all a racket and unfortunately will not change anytime soon. That's a reality.
The graphics were excellent; particularly the glycation one and the de Novo lipogenesis ones. These are the types of graphics I want to see; use the terminology and show the whole complex situation, don't try to simplify them until they don't even make sense any more. Excellent work on when the graphics present in the video and the choice of graphics.
Really sad about the fish oil thing. The only salmon I can really get is farmed in Norway, and I'm not touching that. Grass-fed beef not economically viable either. Sardines occasionally doable, but it's really hard to get one that doesn't use sunflower oil.
I'd be interested in seeing data on whether the oil in cans of cod livers is significantly oxidized. I think it might not be because the cans are sealed with very little oxygen inside, and oxygen can't diffuse through solid steel.
So technically, if you're on a low carb diet, not only you prevent or reverse metabolic syndrome, but you also minimize the damage of the lectins you consume because overall there's less carbohydrate inside you.
Hi Docter Mason, I love your work keep it up 💯💯 What is meant with sodium draws fluids? As in what happens when your body holds too much sodium en the sodium draws fluids? Thank you in advance!
Peri and menopausal women can decrease their UTI occurrence with estrogen therapy. It's the lack of estrogen that causes issues with the urinary tract.
I can image what the local GP is going to say. I have had discussions with my GP over the years. They are so entrenched in what they have been taught, you are wasting your time. They are so scared of wavering from the guidelines in case they lose their jobs.
Been fasting long time now 18 to 22 hours daily But I hold my fast from ten pm to 6 or 8 pm daily Low carb but was not doing high fat , excercise 5 days weekly insulin is excellent blood sugar excellent , liver enzymes are all excellent . Dexa scan says I have visceral fat 3.5 lb I was shocked Have you heard of black coffee and fat mobilization and if not fat adapted like in high protein diet low carb then fat will circulate back to liver but instead of going back to fat cells or utilized by cells or liver it goes and gets stored as visceral fat Cuz the liver is used to gluconeogenisis and not using fat due to low carb high protein little fat with intermittent fasting for years . Also I have read that black unfiltered coffee increases cholesterol One more thing dr nadir cardiologist from Texas promoter of low carb says fasting and putting butter in your coffee and you are obese could kill you since you are mobilizing fat cells and introducing fat as well Feed back appreciated
question! My medical practitioner advises me to continue with allopurinol to reduce uric acid levels because I have a 6mm kidney stone. I haven't had a gout attack for years, while on 100mg allopurinol. Do elevated uric acid levels cause kidney stones?
A high protein diet is not unhealthy, look at the Masaï people in Africa they basically consume meat, drink milk (there is milk without lactose for those who are intolerant) which is their electrolytes source, they walk a lot, are among the most thinnest people on earth and have no health issues.
IMO If you find that water “goes straight through” … add unrefined salt to the water. Problem solved. (Also plain water will flush out the few mins you might have) I repeat … IMO .
This is like giving me another life, thanks sir for your great work #drokooboh, life is all about give and take and stay alive. Legit and trusted on RU-vid Channel and Facebook..
Well of course you can reverse d2. Like you can heal a broken leg but that doesn’t mean you can’t break it again . Reversing will naturally NOT make you immune to sugar. That argumentation is subversive and to the benefit of big pharma . Question : can you eat too much fat and therefor not get the desired weight loss ? Is that the case for the fat healthy people?
Of course you can, but fat burns in your body for 8 hours instead of 3 hours or less that carbs do. But ask any keto bodybuilder, they need to eat so much fat and protein that they basically feel ill from being so full all day.
Imo - drink water with 1 tsp sea salt (with all the trace mins) per litre… so than we are flushing and cleansing and adding the minerals. simple table/supermarket salt is not sea salt. Doctors will say “no” but I wd not agree with doctors. Imo - we are all chronically dehydrated and mineral deficient.
Hi Dr. Mason, I'm reaching out from Canada ai would like to know why my blood pressure spiked on the fourth month of following a ketogenic diet? I've got PCOS and severe metabolic syndrome. Also, do you ever consult with patients outside of Australia?
Ya know, I'd like to see something where a doctor who is pro-ketogenic diets does a full look at Freelee . Like, look at her bloodwork as well as have someone look at and compare the foods that she eats to the food that's available in the general market. Freelee's philosophy is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum for these guys, but because of her source of food (which again is drastically different from what the average person gets in their local areas) she is able to benefit from high levels of fructose without having to worry about things related to metabolic disorders. I feel like, in a way, the way she sources her food and gets an abundance of nutrients from it is similar to the way that regenerative farming allows for animals/animal products to have a greater nutrient density. Though I will say, compared to a ketogenic diet, she does typically need to eat more meals in a day in order to stay satiated.
@18:40 food pyramid...a house of cards, it might be built on a foundation of sand Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV) 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
