@citytrees1752 yes, which can be triggered by sleep deprivation, and some common medications... the mom, dad and step dad are all not dealing with this correctly, and owe that young child so much more! He needs unconditional love from adults who put his needs first, before all the fighting, egos, dx's, rx's, treatments, etc.

I have 2 autistic children and I’m just thinking about the level of emotional and neurological damage you could cause by giving autistic kids psychiatric drugs intended for schizophrenia. Thinking of that poor kid medicated out of his mind being made to do ABA therapy is just horrific.

As a court mandated reporter, Dr Phil is required to notify the courts of ANY type of abuse towards a child he observes. Knowing about and viewing the RU-vid posts made by the mom and stepdad, I believe, would fall into this category. But clearly also Dr Phil has an internal moral conscience which is saying the same to him. I agree. And I agree with Dr Sophie regarding the mother. She needs more help than the children.
He reports a lot. And if you're a mandated reporter it says you have to report the person OR actively do something that will resolve the situation. Psychiatrists can do that, doctors can do that, and police can do that
As mental health professional I can tell you that we are not required to report people that we see on the internet. However now that he has had contact with these people yes he would need to report to child protective services.
And I feel sorry for her children. Plus I can understand why her husband moved 1800 miles away. To get away from her. I can tell he really loves his children. And u can c the pain in him about what's going on with his children

They never listen to anyone about anything they only listen long enough to hear what they want, then begin to only listen to themselves inside their head only to come up with a rebuttal, meanwhile missing all the important aspects of what someone is trying to relay to them but never hear it long enough to add it into their thoughts, let alone actually think before responding. They have to have the last word. You can tell that while speaking to anyone just by them saying “Yes” “mmhmm” “right!”, “No” “thats wrong” “ok” ect. Sooooooooo friggin annoying! I was trying to be understanding until she said she wouldn't take down her youtube page when Dr phil said he would help but only if she stop making videos and she said no. She just wants to be some sort of "oh poor me look how great of a mom I am to raise two kids with severe disabilities I work hard and deserve praise "
I’m so glad Bodhi is out of that family. Unfortunately Jani went back to her house when she turned 18 and was aged out of the foster system. Bodhi is in a wonderful group home for mentally ill children .
I remember watching a video of this family when Bodhi was just a little boy.. The strange thing is he seemed totally normal back then! He wasn't "off" or drooling or moving strangely... He appeared to be a totally normal child. Something happened to him! I strongly believe it's the mother who's behind making her children sick. Both of them..
@bwca4454 a mandated reporter is someone who if you see a child being abused you are legally bound to report them to cps. Teachers, nurses, psychiatrists and therapists, doctors, and police officers are some examples. But yeah this situation the mom refused to comply so Dr phil did contact cps and she had her kids taken away and they haven't been placed back
Imagine wanting attention so badly you want your child diagnosed with schizophrenia....I have a son who is now an adult and I would NEVER wish this mental illness on anyone and certainly wouldn't doctor shop to find one who would say my child had this!
Dr Phil has shown a side that I have never seen. The potential for disaster here is high due to this woman. He was stressed and he stayed patient. This could have blown up but he kept going!!!
That mother will only accept the diagnosis that SHE wants That's why she's taken that poor child to so many doctors. Give him to his father. One sunburn does not make hima poor father. He seems to be the voice of reason. Poor child.

@@traceyregehr9350, why would any clinician go to the effort to build a case to have this lunatic mother’s children removed from her care, undergo the legal process for such, and then have the children be placed outside her home only to then be dragged into court by the crazed mother on some bullshit civil litigation. It is far, far easier to simply not accept the children as patients. Reality is that parents who behave like assholes to professionals most often get shitty services for their children.

She lost her kids. Janni moved back in with her mother when she turned 18, and is unfortunately back on heavy doses of medication. But she lost those kids.

one of my closest friends is a schizophrenic that deals with homicidal ideation and 100% of the time when they realize their thoughts are getting dangerous they seek help for their mental status. being schizophrenic doesn't mean being a unhinged maniac with no sense of morality.
And what if they don't realize their thoughts are getting dangerous? What happens then? I personally know of a schizophrenic who did indeed murder someone, so it CAN happen.

For the first time ever, I can say I understand why a husband left and don’t blame him. Life with her had to be a living hell. The stress of the children’s disabilities and knowing that abusive loud-mouthed harpy was making it worse. I could only deal with that for so long.
My daughter was wrongly diagnosed with factitious disorder and I went ballistic. It did not help the situation but I dont thnk anything would have. I get her frustration but it is getting her kids nowhere and she cannot self-reflect. I hope Dr. Phils team can help this family.
I don't care how much "help" the mother needs. They can't deny help for this poor child because of her. I am glad that they are taking this on. The child could be simply on the autism spectrum and get the right treatments and therapies that HE needs.
Oh my god, these people need PROPER advodacy. This mother is absolutely NOT an advocate like she claims she is in fact, she's quite the opozet. The idea to make a youtube channel to expos her children is messed up and innapropriate. What really disturbed me was the recording of herself asking her some what meds he neads whyle he was clearly not in a state to answer her questions. These poor kids need proper help. Sad situation. What a terrible, selfish mother.
I think the mother and I think it's the stepfather need to be given a mental health evaluation ( more so the mother). The father may not be a perfect father, but at least he is trying. Also in my opinion it feels like this mother is trying to game the system, I hope I am wrong!
I love the relationship that Dr Phil and Dr Sophie have...Dr Phil is more hot-headed than ds...but they clearly have a very good friendship and you can often see good natured humour on ds face when dp is becoming really irritated. Great team with a very human nature to them. Two excellent men who do alot of good!!!!🎉😊❤

@@lorryr255I've followed this story for years. I didn't get the impression his goal in writing the book was to profit but was more about advocating for his daughter. Sadly, he didn't take the kids. They went into foster care shortly after this episode.
Wow! That mother is wearing those children's diagnoses, as a badge of honor! She's trying to make herself out as a martyr! Poor me and my intellectually challenged children! I get reassurance from putting the videos of my children, up for the world to see, how hard I've got it! Unfortunately, I think the children would be better off, in a place where experts can help them. This woman doesn't have the education, nor the tools, needed to treat children this demanding. Every time the experts were introduced, she sat there nodding, with a self-satisfied grin on her face. Shades of Munchousen?
This is really heartbreaking to me. That poor little boy will suffer at the hands of such a selfish mother. I say that as someone who lost their son in his adolecense to get him help. I handed over care to the mental health system so that my son could be a functional and sound human being. He graduated high school this year, and is no longer in the system. He's about to go to college. This is what a true mother does. You don't post your kid on the internet. You take responsibility and action!

Cory is a genuine nice guy that got tangled in Susans insanity 😞. Glad to see update is she lost custody and apparently Cody saw the light and she has remarried.
That mother is psychotic herself!! SHE'S the one who needs help! And if she continues to throw herself into the middle of what the doctors are trying to do, then she should lose custody of them, and give them to their father who seems to be the only one who actually cares about the kids!
Highest priority need is family therapy because of the mother. Poor kids. And what a difficult situation for their father. I hope things work out for the best.
2 week treatment? This woman can't shut up and let the doctors talk for 2 seconds. She's going to wreck anything anyone does to try and help. The look on her face at the end is contempt. That proud fool needs to lose custody.

I watched a special on there daughter Jani and bodi was about 2 at the time and had no issues whatsoever and the mother and father actually lived in 2 separate apartments because they were worried that Jani would do something to bodi. I believe she started medicating bodi and messed him up. The chances of 1 child having what Jani has is rare but having 2 children is even more rare.
That woman needs her children taken off her as she is clearly in need of help herself and imho is not fit to be a mother. She has no respect for anyone. It's unbelievable!
Clearly, the problem here is you have a woman who’s starved for attention, the spotlight. And she’s using her poor kid to get it. Look at her? Am I the only one who sees this???
If you need these meds, you need these meds. It’s not a choice day-to-day. Depakote is for seizures and other medical issues. If you have seizures-you have seizures-you don’t get to decide in the morning whether you will have a seizure that day. Ridiculous.
It’s also a bipolar medication too I have a friend who was on it for his bipolar but I was on it for seizures but it didn’t work for me so I was taking off
I have followed this family for many years. Michael was very devoted to his children. Many many techniques and treatments have been tried. I hope they can get the help that is needed.
As a parent of a mentally ill child, this is HORRIFYING!!! ALL THESE MEDS, are dangerous! There are long lasting ramifications, to your child taking these meds. As a MOM, the sole job we have is to protect and defend our children. THIS “mom” is doing the antithesis of that! She is making it all about HER! Her ex-husband needs to step up and circumvent her control measures. The CHILD needs that!
As a former cps worker, these are the cases that would make my blood boil. CPS would actually work out a family plan than just removing the kids and require the mom to psycho therapy
