Before going out on the party. Me and my cousin played this game we loved sense childhood. I'm player 2 while she player 1. We use to be very good when we use to play back then, but I'm not still abit rusty and she bomb out bad at this. XD We also played Puyo puyo back then too be4 sega and nintendo made 2 games out of it. I am not very good at holding back in this XD. We both still love the 2 player battle music =D!

Puyo Puyo Tetris has the same gameplay, this is somewhat of a puyo reskin. You’ll find plenty of competition there

PuyoVS 2 it's almost identical, except you can counter garbage before it falls by making your own chain before your opponent's chain ends, actually more fun and you can find noobs if you aren't that strong and experts that will crush you! I miss this online clone game:-(

My god the nostalgia. I remember playing with with my little brother over and over until we've reached a very advanced level. We actually got bored slightly so we started putting more rules. For example, the first combo had to be of 5 or more

So many thanks to the sega collection for Xbox 360! My cousins and I would hold little tournaments using this game and they got heated as hell! I only know a couple of my cousins who use actual strategies, including myself. The others usually wing it with whatever beans they're given

I like Dr Robotniks Mean Bean Machine more, because few of the reasons is that there are no anime like characters and voices and Dr Robotniks Mean Bean Machine has better music. Much better characters

But Puyo Puyo has garbage countering which adds so much depth to the gameplay. Besides there's a skin for the free online fan game, PuyoVS 2 that has mbm theme (and many custom skins too) its easier than netplay on an emulator too. Just enter a name and password, find your friend, challenge and play.

Definitely has promise. But master? Look up Momoken. Or search, "Puyo Puyo" to see really high level play. Skill ceiling in MBM is actually pretty low as a 5 chain or sufficient power chain will kill. In the modern game your combo erases damage from your side too. So there is good reason to do a 14/15 chain if you can and you have defensive options too

Jacob Powell Your level of ignorance in this one comment is off the charts. Her name is Arle, and she is not a lady, she's 16. The style of characters seen in Puyo Puyo was not thought to be appealing to western audiences, so they were swapped to Sonic and Kirby characters.
