One mechanic I saw in a video involved tricks. If you hit spindash after completing a trick to fast-fall, you'll get an insane speed boost when you hit the ground. Though every time the person in the video tried it, they just shot themselves into a wall.

@@JeffHikari Just shooting yourself into a wall was the usual new map tricks experience before 2.2.

Slip tide is the term. It was in the original Kart, but has been buffed to turn even tighter and even store the unused boost as wind burst to push you forward. To add on to the mechanics, you can use your drift spark mid air to drop faster without bouncing like fast falling does. Even further, fast falling with bubble shield does even more funny stuff that I'll let you imagine and try out in game.

It's pretty funny because he ended up actually pulling it off by *accident* in the video.

you can also just back out after the ring tutorial now, the remainder of it is optional

There's also a file called PASSWORDS in the game's root folder, which gives you passwords that let you unlock everything right off the bat.

​@MrSkerpentine That was in the 2.0 ver, you have to get 4th or better to win. Then a few babies got upset about it even tho it was meant to be a joke, if you lose then you get a Nice Try instead of a No Contest.

I have seen character mods for base kart which are just sonic riders so I don't see why those won't return here.

You should play it, they have been fixing the mechanics up and and allowing players to exit the tutorial earlier with no hassel so you can save some parts of it till later.

If you had played 2.0 or 2.1 already, make sure to check out 2.2 which released recently: It adjusted the AI among other stuff and I've seen many enjoy the grand prix mode more than before now thanks to it.

its been nerfed twice and i still kinda feel like the game turns into a clusterfuck i have so much fun playing online beecause it feels like my losses are just because im not good, but in grandprix even in 2.2 it feels like sometimes the game just decides i shouldnt win

Oh yeah the game's bullshit, but all good racing games should be bullshit. Collecting all the emeralds is real nightmare difficulty hard.

@@pacothemajestic I'd rather lose a race because I made a mistake. Losing because the ai decides you lose just makes me want to stop playing.

That's a issue that can be solved with a bit of skill or use Auto Ring which was added in 2.2

Ring boost is clever and well designed but just not that fun in practice. Maybe it could fit in an F-Zero inspired side mode without items. I am using Auto RIng and it's a huge improvement, really dislike how it is in base game. edit: thinking about it some more it's more the ring debt mechanic and how quick you can fall into it that I don't like. punishes low skill players (me) & bold plays too much. aside from that issue 2.2 plays much better

Fr, it feels like way too many mechanics for a kart racer. They hardly even feel cohesive with how one button does like 3 different things. I wanted to like this game, but it feels like the devs got too good at other games and didnt account for normal skill levels. The skill floor is way too high for a typically more casual genre

Not at the moment. I have too many things set up for Twitch chat interaction that I'm finding difficult to make work across both platforms.

No it feels very good, its a fun kart racer, I play it often with my friends.
