This has been an exceptional presentation of vital information. Dr. Gominak is such a treasure, not only for her command of the concepts presented, but more so for her humility and authenticity. This is my first time to the channel, and I will be back. Thank You.
"I had never really looked at anything in the body from a deficiency standpoint. Even though I learned a lot about nutrition before I want to medical school, I was successfully brainwashed away from it during medical school."
So good to see an unbiased flexible and Aristatilian appdroach to medicine. Thank you! Have been experimenting with D3 and B complex, part random info I had picked up (very much like you...youtube is so good for that), and part intuition. You've made sense of it. Keep on trucking.
I have been doing the protocol. I experimented with going on a larger dose of D and sure enough my sleep went from really good to me feeling tired again. Time to back off the D and bring my levels down.
The nutrients vitamins and minerals in the soil has been depleted over the years. See Dr. Eric Berg and Dr. Mandell on you tube. Thankyou for the the informative lecture on sleep and the vitamins that have a effect on it.
You don't need any of this. Just eat a lot of donuts. The key to nutrition is getting a proper balance of all the different kinds of donuts; chocolate, glazed, sprinkles, jelly filled, plain, etc. If you need supplementation, you can add Doritos or Twinkies. And always remember to stay hydrated with plenty of Mountain Dew and Coke.
You need to learn a whole lot more about vitamin D3 levels and DAILY dosing. I have experimented with D 3 for 10 years and watched everything online about it along with several books. Optimum levels are around 80 to 100ng/mil. You must also take magnesium and vitamin K2 with it daily. Bolus dosing weekly or monthly does not work nearly as well.
That's why you listen to your body AND get your levels checked! I also recommend listening to several of Dr gominak's videos because I've learned something different from each one.
@@davidrosenberg6519 P5P can still cause toxicity. The form that blood testing is looking for is P5P so that whole concept goes out the window since it was based on incorrect assumptions. We were all told P5P is safe but its still able to put someone many times above the range for b6.
@@airwaycircle the one thing I can attribute to cause bone issue is she was taking anti depressant medication for years. I know that messes you up.. she had the early signs of osteoporosis, not the full disease yet. I noticed she consumes a lot of energy drinks last I saw her..
@@good1125 so also root cause of her depression, could of been airway issues due to genetic variants ect. Ugh why must it be so hard for us to be healthy in this country
B-50 seems like a questionable idea. The RDA of each B vitamin is different, but these pills just arbitrarily provide either 50 mg or 50 mcg of each, so for some like Biotin you get 167% of the RDA, and for others like Thiamin (B-1) you get 4167% of the RDA! Not sure if I want to takes these pills or not. 🤔
I wonder how this all changes when one is dealing with chronic infections like tick diseases? I’ve been in treatment since 2015.. I did a couple years of herbals which did not work and I nearly died multiple times. April 2018 I started on multiple antibiotics and improved but the antibiotics have to be changed up every several months bcs symptoms come back. I just retested with igenex spring 2023 and I’m still positive for borellia, babesia & Bartonella.. It has been incredibly challenging to know what to do to treat the infections as well as to identify and correct nutritional deficiencies that may be contributing, causing, or being caused by the pathogens or the treatment. I also had to realize all the symptoms being caused by all the plants I was eating. Now I just eat meat, raw butter, raw eggs, and full fat coconut milk and have improved considerably, but not fully healed yet. I’m sure that with daily antibiotics I just can’t get my gut flora back online appropriately. I really wish I could discover this info or work with a dr who knows about all these topics and issues!
This completely leaves out the interaction with the Thyroid gland.... D converts T4 into T3 so that has to work as well.. it also leaves out the calming of the autoimmune responses that you get with Vit D...eliminating to tamping down most autoimmune disorders. so there's much more than Sleep Disorders
We don't have time to cover it all. This was specific to D3 and B12. We all know the body is very complex and there's a lot involved. Thanks for your comment.
This doctor’s experience started with trying to help patients with sleep problems, not autoimmune conditions. There are other docs on RU-vid that address autoimmune conditions and vitamin D.
I find it impossible to get the right help quick if all sorts of basic tests aren’t even thought of by many peoples health services. Our bodies aren’t ran with a system that signals we need specific amounts of certain vitamins. We rely on healthcare to offer such services to get to the basics of our personal situations.
At about 49minutes in, Dr Gominack meantions a film or video that I couldn't catch the name even though I played that bit several times. She says something to ther effect 'if you haven't watched #####'. I don't know what the ##### is. Sounds like 'bone stick', but I can find no reference to that. Does anybody know what it was?
.."vitamin D... is a hormone, not a vitamin...neurologists don't use hormones. hormones are set up so that every day, we move back and forth around a midpoint and they affect multiple organs to keep things moving along...you move one hormone, and everything is moving around too."
Yes, D3 increases calcium absorption. Apparently this can become too much Ca, and it can then begin accumulating in soft tissues where that is harmful. K2MK7 transports extra Ca out of soft tissues to be more safely stored. IMHO
I began developing symptoms of sleep apnea when I was 38 years old. I'm female; at the time, I weighed 110 pounds at 5' 2"; I ran 3 miles, 4-5 mornings a week; I ate healthy food; I was happy and energetic. And I wasn't getting any sunshine. Sleep apnea was the first sign that I wasn't getting enough sunshine.
Sunlight is medicine. We should use it wisely, every day, just like our ancestors. D is not a vitamin. It's a really important pre -hormone component, generated by the sunlight, in our skin. Take care, never let the Sun burn your skin, but use its power every sunny day.
