Excellent logic! What went wrong about 40 years ago. One thing in the north, is that we stopped eating real lard - it was a source of Vit D all winter. Then we started eating processed foods, sat our kids indoors most of the day, and then in front of the TV. We can’t expect to be healthy if live in a way that we were never meant to live.
@ianbanner9292
@ianbanner9292 3 года назад
Sophie, I did not know that Lard was a source of Vit.D. You mention wrong turn forty odd years ago. I would go back further, to the use of Organo-phosphate pesticides , from WW2 increasingly onwards. The sperm count has dropped enormously since WW2, by the late eighties had halved , many percentage reports of further drops. Organo-phos. stops fast dividing cells, hence used as Chemotherapy. I have not found any thing written that Organo-phos. prevents or blocks absorption of Vit D. but am intuitively certain of it. Another source removed from our diet, is that the Homogenisation of milk kills all the Vit D. You may recall the epidemic of Brittle Bone Disease , amongst the generation that might have been described as Housewives , coincided with this removal. I have so called ME/CFS, (I am certain is Organo-phos poisoning) after repeated exertion I used to go into a condition I thought of as Wobblytot, I would crave milk to such an extent I even wondered as to regression. In 1998, my Doctor finally recognised it as Tetany (Hypoparathyroidism). Milk gave me no relief, then learned of the homogenisation effect. Since I have used Evaporated Milk in tea coffee and cooking., a can gives about twice RDA. Viktor Meyer, the German Chemist, who did much of the original research into Organo-phosphates, had a Lab assistant who went down ill. Who was presumed to be either faking or to have a mental condition. Untill Meyer proved the condition with animal tests. Meyer went on to be Head of Chemistry at Heidelberg University , taking over from his mentor Bunsen, although he had to be persuaded into accepting the prestigious appt. Meyer committed suicide just before his fiftieth birthday, despite being a family man. After what was described as a number of breakdowns, none of which he seemed to fully recover from. Both in the way viewed and sad outcome, just like ME/CFS. I'll end here, for years I have been circling Organo-phos. Vit D., Type 2 Diabetes, Alzheimers , Parkinson's, Anorexia etc.Dr Gominak is astounding.

The book The Edge Effect by Eric R. Braverman tells you how to build Acetylcholine-a whole diet and supplement list including a food list. This is interesting though-we know dopamine and acetylchole are your drivers and your want to while gaba and serotonin are your feel good and relax- so he says its gaba that runs your sleep, but I can see where if your acetylcholine {brain speed} is off, how it could run the speed {uptake] of the others? Does that make sense? I have always taken HTP or trytophan to sleep and magnesium-could take melatonin. That is where the sun light coming in through the eyes is so important in the morning. Sun goes in the pupil , hits the brain and raises seratonin to get you going for the day and when it gets dark the eyes tell the brain to release melatonin to go to sleep. With out the sun that starts a cascade of problems. Think about the eagle when he gets sick-he flys to the highest spot and plucks out all his feathers and lays in the sun to heal and grow back his feathers. GOD knew what he was doing!

If taking 10,000 IU of D3 which is 250 mcg, then 120 mcg of K2 as MK7. I also read if we have a BMI of 3.0 or higher, as I do, we need 2 to 3 times the amount of D3. I have taken 10,000 IU D3 with 120 mcg of K2 MK7 for near a year and my blood test shows I am at near 70 ng. D. Did you gain weight? I was a pack a day smoker for 30 years, minus 7 years of pregnancy/nursing. Every time I stopped smoking, I gained a significant amount of weight. I attributed it to the pregnancies. As soon as I started smoking again, the weight came off . Again, I attributed it to working out (although I worked out through the pregnancies). I quit smoking cold turkey almost two years ago (not due to pregnancy) and I have gained at least 15 lbs and still gaining even though I continue to work out. I had blood work done twice in the past two years and my Vit D has been either low or on the low side of normal (28 and 33). I started taking Vit D (10000ui) and B100 about 2 weeks ago to see if my weight will drop. I’m at a loss but hopeful. Now hearing this, I’m debating taking nicotine supplements. I have no desire to smoke again.

Thanks, Good doctors. This is amazing. I suffered from an allergic reaction to bp meds. Lisinopril and losarten caused my small bowels to swell. Took 6 months for diagnosis. Castor oil wraps helped me heal. Worn overnight. I couldn't sleep for several months almost wiped me out. Great information to add to my healing experience.

Sunlight, Vit-D , Acetylcholine affects: alerts ( wake time) 1.good deep sleep (sleep time) 2.Sleep apnea, REM sleep 3.ADHD 4.Ovulation 5.PCOS 6.IBS?? Vitamin D deficiency changes the intestinal microbiome reducing B vitamin production in the gut. The resulting lack of pantothenic acid adversely affects the immune system, producing a ‘‘pro-inflammatory” state associated with atherosclerosis and autoimmunity. Gominak SC. Medical Hypotheses 2016; 94 103-107. Co-EnzymeA (Vit-B5) + Vit-D = Acetylcholine Our sleep system needs Vit-D3 not Vit-D2

We as a species, more so industry, caused our own problem with lack of sunlight and low vitamin D. We did this with aerosol sprays from insecticide cans (CFC's), causing low ozone in the upper atmosphere. So we were exposed to more UV radiation from the sun. It was not just because of that, as Dr. Stasha Gominak said, also more people working indoors. I wonder though, people started working more in mines and factories since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Whenever I go outdoors in the sun I wear sunglasses because of the thinking that UV radiation is one of the causes for sight deterioration. I think it may be allowing my sight not to deteriorate any further maybe even improve but as the Dr says we need a reasonable amount of sunlight to help make us sleep. I have bad sleep but recently bought a SAD (Seasonal affective disorder) light, that I sit beside in the mornings. This may be working but why do things have to get so complicated just to get basic needs.

I so wish more people would speak up and out about Vit D. Interestingly enough for me since I stopped smoking 20 years ago I just have struggled to sleep. I put it down to night duty shifts as I worked in critical care. Few people knew about sleep disorders and no medical cover for it, so I have given up seeking relief. I won't take hypnotics or smoke again. I also have ADD.

Great interviewer, allowing your guest to speak freely without the threat of being cut off every time she takes a breath. I have breathed plenty of roundup spray and licked plenty off my lips, every year since it came out. It's not a real problem. Roundup hate is manufactured to make attorneys rich. Another point, if I'm not sleeping well, I start taping my mouth shut while I sleep, until I get trained back to good nasal breathing. It works.

Wow - this is mind blowing information, thank you so much. Have you done any studies on finding out which forms of the b vitamins is best for a individual - apparently it varies from person to person. Taking the right form of B1 and B6 has been life changing for me - eg the benfotamine form of thiamine and the pyridoxamine for of B6. But perhaps that's because of something else that can be fixed?
