Saw it before I saw Doctor Strange. Wondered how many funny similarities were things from the comics or maybe some of the people working on the new one wanted to throw a few weird references. The villian in both looks kind of similiar, but I guess that is debatable. What really got me was when people started throwing glass daggers from their body in the new one, just like Dr. Mordrid did. That was a decent movie I think, and I have to see anything with Jeffery Colmes.

@graemesmith6721
@graemesmith6721 2 года назад
Yeah, that bugged me too. Since the character is nothing like the Clea from the comics, why call her that? Why not just create a whole new character? It's not like anyone but comic geeks are going to know who Clea is, and they'll be pissed by the deviation from the source material anyway.

Love your reviews - but I have to defend the 1978 Dr. Strange! For context, mid-western gay boy here, born in 1960. I was in the closet in high school, but Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings (the books) saved my life. And I saw Dr. Strange when it premiered on CBS. Hearing about it's poor ratings, I even wrote to CBS begging them to give it another chance......They didn't. But they did send me a nice rejection letter. (This was back in the days of paper-based communication.) This movie drags quite a bit in the middle section, and the villain, Morgan Le Fay, fails more than she should. But still, the supernatural world it sets up is on par with Star Wars notion of "The Force" in a galaxy "long ago and far, far away." I became a life-long fan of John Mills and Jessica Walter because of this movie. AND, a Dr. Strange fan. I only read the comics after I saw this movie.

Sure, the T-shirt may be easier than getting my chest branded; but would it properly display my love of Lloyd? I think not -- HEAT UP THE BRAND!

Hooking up with either Jessica Walter and Anne-Marie Martin in the same film. That's a good choice.

Great! First Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews take on that film, now we have Brad/Snob's turn to hurtle into this late 70s adaptation.

Is anyone amazed that Seinfeld travelled back to the '70s to set up a bookshop? Seinfeld is a time Lord. Also the William Blake painting at 13:05 is one of my favorite of Blake's prints.

Did you add the BeeGees and Iron Butterfly in, or was that here in the movie?

I watched the 70's version right before I went to see the other one. I don't know why, but I did.
