I agree with you Dr. Taylor Marshall! Right, if the youth really did prefer the 1960-1970s liturgical music then theoretically speaking we would have to update the music to the 21st century. Hi Taylor, My daughter and I went to a Latin mass. The church is full. No mask! Faith. Most of the people come far. When I tell them Dr Taylor Marshall invited me, most everyone I’ve spoken to know you and began to go there for the same reason. My daughter loves it. Thanks for sharing your love and teaching us the basics of the Latin mass.

Dr. Marshall, thank you for all the amazing work that you do! I am a 17-year-old who went to my first Latin Mass last month after learning about it from your videos; it was beautiful and no Novus Ordo I've ever been to could compare to it. You are truly an inspiration for me! Displays such as this are heartbreaking to watch because our Blessed Lord deserves so much better, but all the more it encourages us to pray for the healing of our Church in a world that seeks nothing short of her destruction.

I grew up in the Novus Ordo and left what I thought was the Catholic Church for years.We did a literal song + dance routine to James Taylor replete w stereo system on "the Altar." This was during "the Reign" of JP2 the great apostate.

Most of my life I've lived here in the US. During my childhood I lived in Mexico. The NO church I attended there did not use any instruments. It was usually the elder who sang during Mass. Here in the US, it was a whole different story. I often found different aspects that really bothered me, I had been taught differently. I had not only been taught about the reverence we should have inside the church and specially during the Holy Sacrifice by my mother and grandmother, but by the community. I remember the elder often corrected kids who were talking or playing around inside the church, even when those kids were not related to them. There was that respect for our elders. Here the music often seemed very protestant. Sometimes it seemed like we were in a concert. That really bothered me. So, I started attending a Benedictine abbey church and another smaller church. At the abbey, the monks chant certain parts in Latín. I have also found a church where the Tridentine Mass is celebrated. Even though I have grown up attending the NO, I felt attacked with Pope Francis' Motu Propio. Anyone who reads it and doesn't see the attack on the Mass of All Time is clearly part of the problem!

I stopped going...I couldn’t take it anymore. They had incorporated all those black gospel songs from Protestant churches and those African Methodist churches...then they had people dancing to the lyrics...I told my mom and sister that we would only be attending Mass on Saturday because it was traditional....

That's why choirs were traditionally hidden behind screens or behind the congregation in a loft - to not draw attention to themselves. Notice how the lofts and screens were destroyed by the modernists who wreck-ovated the churches

@@eb4203 we know, but when we say "boomers" we're talking about a certain type of person (a lot of/most boomers will fall into the category, but everyone knows, not all, don't worry ;)). Almost everyone in the abomination of a "mass" would be "boomer" or boomer in spirit, which is just as bad, as they swiftly destroyed whatever was left of our civilisation after the WWs.

makes my heart sick. I am in my 70's and remember the " change " in the Mass during the later 60's. At first I just went with what I thought they wanted us to do but started to feel the " coldness" of it all. I was so glad when our dear priest began praying the TLM again. I felt like finally I came home. Now our weekly TLM is filled with young families and a few of us oldies.

I attended my last N.O. Missae over 5 years ago and it was bad enough back then, the pastor and most of the deacons were very much the 60's dysfunctional youth that climbed the ladder of "mal-formation". 50+ years of distortion in the Faith and sadly those folks are from my generation. At least when I discovered that the Tridentine Mass, (the Mass of my youth) was still being celebrated, it changed everything for me in the best possible way.

I’d love to hear your take on that and on daily mass. I’m currently torn between being the last disciples at the foot of the cross demanding reverence of our Lord by receiving communion on my knees and on the tongue and by the priest (boggles the mind why Eucharistic ministers are needed for barely over a dozen people) and faithfully attending my Sunday Latin mass. On the one hand, I need His grace to sustain me in motherhood, homeschooling and working. On the other hand, I feel depleted by rushed masses and irreverent behavior in the church (by the laity, not the priest otherwise I would not go). What’s a person to do? 🤷🏽‍♀️

I'm 25 now. I just started to attend the Latin mass. But I struggle to find individuals my age that attend. Lots of families attend, which is awesome. But rarely anyone my age that is single and looking for friends. I'm still very new to the Latin mass, but I have come to accept I'll be alone in attending for now. It takes time for people to trust one another. Especially in these times.

Check the bulletin or talk to the rector. Im sure there are get togethers that are happening in your community. Also you can spend time with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

Do your best to hang around after mass and get to know the other parishioners. Befriend an older couple, widow, or widower, and get to know them. Their stories will edify you. I will pray that God sends you some wonderful Catholic companions! Please pray for two of my children who are about your age. They grew up with the TLM, went to university, and have walked away from the TLM. Feel free to contact me! I would be very happy to chat with you.

Taylor, this reinforces why I left the NO for good in 1974! What nauseating antics passed off to the gullible faithful as if it were really the Catholic Mass! Thanks be to God and Our Lady that grace is not wanting to draw those souls, especially among the young, to the Traditional Mass and the faith of our Fathers. Keep up the good work.

The priests are conservative and reverent for now. That's the problem with the Novus Ordo, there isn't anything in the GRIM that prevents a new priest from doing a Disco mass b/c the rubrics allows for mutability and flexibility. This formlessness is not allowed in the TLM.

@@geraldmay9408 I live in a very conservative country in southeast Europe. Our priests, who are also Franciscan friars, are pretty old-fashioned when it comes to liturgy, even our young priests. No dancing, no girls as altar servers, no ridiculous music, no ideologies, no women nor laymen giving Holy Communion. Quite strict and conservative. I understand that in some places priests who celebrate NO Mass really lost it. I feel sad because of that, and it's a shame that many people have a very negative viewpoints on NO Mass because of things showed in this video. It is not like that everywhere. I have a great respect for TLM and I would like that every priest celebrates Mass with piousness and humility. This video is outrageous. God bless you. Have a blessed Sunday.

@@lucianaletilic6956 just understand the fact that the NO, even a "reverent" one, is *not* the same as the TLM. It keeps some of the ordinary prayers (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei) while eliminating completely other prayers and rubrics such as genuflections, inserts new and wholly made up passages, makes the Confiteor (I confess) optional....In sum it eliminates the sense of a sacrifice in favor of a communal meal, and obscures the role of a priest to the point where he's practically superfluous. The so called "Vatican II changes" affected every single aspect of Catholicism, not just the liturgy fir the Mass, but also the rituals for all the Sacraments, the Breviary, Canon Law, the Catechism, the Lectionary and Bible, everything, to reflect a different religion from what had gone before.

So far I am lucky the priest at my parish have been more traditional, the best they could be considering how the church has been desecrated with modernist. The Archbishop in my diocese is also more traditional. Pray it stays that way.

There are a lot of good holy priests but they seem to being restrained somehow! We have definitely drifted far too far by displacing the tabernacle, removing altar rails, refusing communion on the tongue. It all crept in so insidiously we were deceived. Now it's getting worse we have few alternatives. I would certainly draw the line at that claptrap on the altar and diabolical charade.

Flowers and clutter on the alter steps according to the season was done at the N.O. parish I left. During Lent is was cactus plants, sand, lots of rocks, nails, crown of thorns, and for some reason broken pottery. The Lenten "desert" they tried to create ended up having the opposite effect of a cluttered mess. It looks like Easter in this video. This beautiful church will again someday host the TLM. Thankfully they haven't gutted it.

Broken pottery may be a reference to Jeremiah 19 (I think...). Read the story there when you get a chance, pretty interesting. I agree though why decorate the *steps* ? It's actually a violation of the General Instruction in the Missal,which says that the altar be accessible so that priest and ministers can go around it easily

I think some ornaments are allowed even in Traditional Liturgies (sa Eastern Flowers, Poinsettias, etc.). However they need to be displayed in an orderly respectful manner and most definitely not interfering with the worship in any way, shape or form. Same thing with the statues. And of course...NO PACHAMAMAS!!!!!!

@@archangelliii2536 yes it's always necessary to limit the number of decor especially considering the size of the church. To be fair though not everybody is as good at interior decorating lol. Even statues don't belong *on the altar* (that is, the mensa or surface where the missal, chalice and patens go) but rather on the shelf or wall niche behind it. And yeah I heard about the pachamama thing...gross....

@@happylittletrees5668 glad I can help, and thank you also for the info. I think I've seen the broken pottery thing too and I find these stories from the Bible so fascinating 🙂. The Jeremiah stories such as chapter 19 are longer narratives but well worth it. All this being said, I could probably wager a certain amount that this Bible story would be met with just a glazed over stare from whatever "liturgical consultant" advised this parish to do that lol. But it's fascinating how at the same time, the Bible is being fulfilled before our very eyes, with almost every single day that goes by!

I was in the music ministries. Believe you me, I was punished when I spoke out. I stayed and took the bullying. It has been worth it because things are coming full circle. I feel vindicated. At times I wish I was one of the youthful faithful Catholics today. We boomers walked in darkness back then and didn’t know it. Many still don’t. I pray for the Great Illumination.

Last month Cardinal Dinardo banned the TLM for those churches who started having them recently, no more than 2 yrs. 2 weeks ago was my last TLM mass at the church that I attend. Since then, I've gone to the novus ordo mass in Spanish and one in English. What a BIG difference in the reverence and at the end of mass everybody applaud. It is not a show, is very disrespectful. Thank Dr. Marshall for challenging me back in lent to go to a TLM, it is so profound and spiritual. I am going to look for a church that offers the Latin mass near me no matter how far it may be. This literally brought me to tears, but not ones of laughter. It saddens me to see what has become of the Church and how Jesus is treated at the foot of the altar, but I am blessed to have an orthodox diocesan Traditional High Mass every Sunday just down the street. I am under 40, and more than half of the TLM attendees are as well, most of them with many children. Pax vobiscum.

God is Angry. There are zero graces falling to earth except the few garnered by few holy priests saying holy masses. God has turned His face from us. You can tell God is angry when we get bad priests and bad leaders. Just take a look at the world. Only God knows when enough is enough. We are in the beginnings of the chastisement. The cup of offenses is running over. Soon God Will let lose his full wrathful vengeance upon us. The BVM under the title Immaculate Heart of Mary will be our beacon of hope. This is my own humble opinion because of all that has happened to me and seeing the results in the poor lives of my siblings. I'm sorry, I didn't care for this video. I think a lot of your good work, and I thank you for it. But after all that I've been exposed to as a child and into adulthood, through Novus Ordo, I cannot laugh. People are losing the Faith because of this, to me, it's not a laughing matter.

I agree. Most poor souls who were exposed to this type of ridicule left the church and are no longer in a state of grace. The young people and many converts from Protestantism seem not to have a proper sense of indignation or sadness at what is occurring now. Hopefully I wrong. However for ever comment conveying a sense of sadness and a need for reparation there are many more glib comments.Few people understand the present danger the bride of Christ in now confronting. I will pray for you. Peace in Christ!

I watched and listened. This is the only post of yours that I have no need to save. I got the message. I was never into that service even in the 1960’s. I’m not so sure either piece of music or their words are suitable for a reverent worship service. It’s a real stretch. So I went cold to this. Give me a slow Gregorian piece every time particularly High Mass. now you have my thoughts, let’s pray on this because I do not doubt that our Lord loves worship combined with music … it is a double strength to our prayers.
