I am 67 years old, a female with 5 other Black sisters, a psychology major, studied sociology outside of the book like Dr Umar has. I raised two Black male children and I noticed others pushing their females, Black and White and other races, past my Black male children. By mainly, I remember my household in the 60s and 70s reminding me of the Claudine movie. The house was in my mom’s name, the car was in my mom’s name, the people handing out self esteem on a platter of credit cards trusted my mom and not my dad. I heard the stories of how my mom’s mother scorned my dad even before they were married. My dad became a drunk. End of my dad’s story-no one to hold him up.
