This time we modify a Cessna C182R built in 1982. The example of yesterday was a 1983 model.
Basically we do the same conversion to a 300hp Teledyne Continental IO-550-D (not B).
We are in talks with AIR PLAINS, TORNADO ALLEY TURBO, VITATOE to check if a SKYLANE can be TURBONORMALIZED or not.
VITATOE does it already for T210, P210 and TORNADO ALLEY TURBO handles it with Cardinals, so we part from the assumption that an IO-550 powered SKYLANE would not be such a problem either.
This video focuses more in depth in what the GARMIN AVIONICS can do for any pilot, even the ones that start flying.
Situational Awareness, Navigational orientation and the protections that it offers for "ham fisted" pilots are factors that we have into account.
Especially if somebody plans on buying an aircraft, we consider that the aircraft should stay a long time with its owner and if it is a new pilot, instead of buying and selling a variety of aircraft, we consider it a good thing that a pilot gets accustomed to his aircraft he will travel with after getting his PPL and maybe IFR rating.
The avionics are key to DRACO AVIATION as GARMIN offers an excellent way of SYSTEM INTEGRATION. People from the IT world will know perfectly what we are talking about. Well, GARMIN avionics offer precisely that: Full integration and synergy of systems and systems that talk to eachother and give that information in a clear and understandable, intuitive manner to the pilot.
We integrate, from our part, DRACO AVIATION a maximum of
system features that currently exist.
We consider that an aircraft with plenty of excess power is also a good point when some will want to travel to short runways, inclined runways, soft runways or maybe short unpaved runways as close to their destination as possible.
Then when in hot & high airfields, you will need that power as most high airfields have short and difficult to reach runways.
Maybe you want to fly in the Rockies in the U.S. or CANADA or the French or Swiss Alps or in the Pyrenees. You will need to be able to climb out fast and safe over the tops of these mountain ranges. Which is why we are informing ourselves about TURBONORMALIZING (Single Turbocharger with Dual Intercoolers) the Skylane as to make it an even more capable aircraft.
NOTE: The exterior lighting package that we will install on this aircraft is composed of all WHELEN products.

NOSE (ENGINE COWLING) - DUAL PARMETHEUS PRO 160K CANDLE
WINGTIPS - NAV/COLLISION - ORION 660
VERTICAL FIN - 71080 RED LED BEACON
TAIL CONE - ORION LED 550 SERIES POS/COLLISION
LOWER FUSELAGE (BELLY) - WHELEN 908525D RED LED BEACON.
This is practically the standard for DRACO AVIATION EXTERIOR LIGHTING PACKAGES FOR CESSNA AIRCRAFT.
