The most faithful adaptation of Stokers novel. Keanu's Reeves and Wynona Ryder were big names at the time so you can understand from a commercial point of view why they were cast. Both their English accents were awful. Oldman was great as Dracula but wish he appeared physically as the way Stoker described him in the book. Anthony Hopkins was ideally cast as Van Helsing but he over hammed it. Van Helsing is more reserved in the book. Even at the time some of the sets looked very stage like and unrealistic. I would love to see a new version that is faithful to the book in terms of physical descriptions of Dracula. I wonder who would be cast nowaday's? Oldman could still play Dracula as the latter is an old man when Jonathan Harker first meet him. I think Michael Fassbender would have been a good Jonathan Harker maybe 10 or 15 years ago and Kate Beckinsale would be great as Mina 10 or 15 years ago. Bill Nighy would be ideal for Dracula when Jonatham Harker first meets him. Jeremy Irons or Derek Jacobi would have been ideal for Van Helsing. This 90's version had some strong points and very weak points too.
