guys XUV700 impressed me to the moon and back, for its size and for its tyres width its a commendable performance, first thing's first, i want to thank the indian auto makers like tata and mahindra for achieving standards that can beat up international car standards out there....
As wheel size is bigger, can't put all the torque to acceleration against small wheel one. And aerodynamics.Also I wonder how auto lost to manual. If polo is auto with torque converter it must be even faster. Petrol is a petrol is a petrol. High engine speed beat torque.

Such sub-second leads cannot be called a win..!! In real life scenario you may not see much of diff...but Polo being smaller is likely to be more agile.
Obviously this was not an apple to apple comparison. An apple was made to compare with a pineapple. It's a short drag race. So cars like polo, Punto Abarth, kicks has higher chance of winning against an suv. If this comparison happened like a straight road (more distance), quite easy to conclude that a powerful diesel car like XUV 700 will win hands down. This race was for fun; no doubt but the intention has to be clearly stated in the video. If not, everyone will not understand the full aspect.
I understand Autocar drag needs good investments and its natural to keep up demand of its products bt once in a month????? please upload em more frequently. I swear I watch every drags atleast 10 times.
XUV700 is impressive. given tough competition to polo..both are in same seconds..few milli seconds behind is doesn't matter..it's due to size and weight..
First things first, you can't compare a petrol car with a diesel car. Diesel cars are made for heavy duty purpose. Also, Polo is a hatch and XUV is an SUV. XUV is 700 kg heavier too. Both are poles apart, but a unique and exciting drag race I've ever seen!
