Bob glidden and Lee shepherd were respected drivers and gentleman with their fans. Won championships and races . Two legandary drivers in pro-stock. These guys were the best there is.

Two titans in Pro Stock racing. Epic battles between them. Bob and Lee were two of the best.

Bob Glidden could make anything fly. Corporate said ,"We really want you to run the EXP because we want to sell this car". Bob took a short, erratic, ill-handling compact car and made it happen in '82. When Bob was signed to Chrysler, he still pulled together some magic in a VERY short period of time. Glidden was incredible.

True great legends. I wish they still done dry burnouts in drag racing

In my opinion, that was due to the nature of camera's at that time and Sheppard had a faster mile an hour but Glidden had a faster ET so when they broke the beams, Sheppard must have inched ahead past the line with his faster mile an hour. Plus the camera quality back then was not as good as it is now. But over all, the Beams don't lie

You have great eyes if you can see a couple thousands of a second. Remember the front end doesn’t trip the lights the front tire does.

Think of the rivalry that would of lasted years between these two had Shepherd lived. It would of been the best in Pro Stock history.

I think Bob won this one because he broke the beams with the body of his car not with his wheel. There's another video where a top fuel dragster lost a race because his front wheels were off the ground when he got to the beams although he was absolutely in front
