I was here. Maple Grove is about 30 minutes from my house. The weather was pretty chilly but the cars were flying that day because of all that good air.
It wasn't long before the NHRA rearranged this class for the GM wins. The 'Oldsmobile' was the DRCE (drag race competition engine) built just for this class.

Back when Pro Stock used to be the fans favorite class! Today, most fans couldn't care less about the class. It's boring AF! Nothing but GM chivy-lets.
@@bernardboggs8734: NHRA rule changes and their BS politics is what prompted FoMoCo to pull out of the Pro Stock class. It's a waste of money for FoMoCo to put $Millions into the NHRA Pro Stock class when the rules favor GM.
The grandstands used to be full, but now no one cares to watch a bunch of elite millionaires race! Stands look like Friday night test and tune at a local track!
