Can you drag race a track car? We try and find out, plus we compare the "Racebox" vs Santa Pods professional equipment to see how accurate it is! 1/4 mile drag racing and testing in the 945kg 330 bhp VX220 / Speedster Turbo. Our first time back to Santa Pod in 6 years, this time with a RWD car!

Attended at "run what ya brung" date in April 2023 and had a perfect day for it. Temperatures around 12/13 degrees C and a dry track. Had x4 camera set up including x2 GoPro 6's and 2x iPhone (internal and external).

Mid 12s on road tyres is unbelievably fast. The MPH at the end corresponds with your 60ft time. The slower you leave the line, the more time you have on the track to build up speed. It's a confusing concept but sort of makes sense. 1.91 60ft on road tyres is also pretty good. Really great base numbers, great to see how the car improves.

I noticed you were shifting at 6.5k. Is that when the power drops off for you? What inlet manifold are you running for 330bhp?

Thanks for the comment dude, so on power curve etc, in the after hours section of the video I talk a little more on the map (with dyno graphs etc) which might address your question. Inlet manifold is a Courtney/Klasen one. There’s a video of that here on my Part 1 restoration video 👌

Thanks for your comment and sure, but maybe check out some of my other videos (including the VX220 build videos) that include more details of engine, suspension, brakes and more done recently. But say if there is something specific you want to know(?) and I'll let you know

@@AK88onCars well i have looked around, I am planning to build a speedster too and i'd like to know approx what i'll need to reach the power you have on yours So far I know you have headers , lightweight flywheel, suspension upgrades and an lsd but I don't see much else mentioned ? Correct me if i'm wrong

@@bigmemer4398 power wise, it has a Z06 BorgWarner hybrid turbo, larger injectors, larger fuel pump, charge cooler, and an ECU remap (in addition to the parts you mentioned). The internals of the engine are yet to be touched, and I’ve had this set up for about 10,000 miles without any issue. Although this is the limit of save power you can run with a standard Z20LET engine. Does that help?
