Definitley my favourite Dragon age game, its so addicting and replayable!

There is a skill in the stealth tree that let's you dive and roll I find it very usefull for dogging, getting behind people and getting around faster.

Wrapping up my second playthrough right now (I just have the final mission and the Trespasser DLC left). My rogue is a tempest, so my build's slightly different, but I'm also using double daggers, so there's a lot that's the same. For a long time, I was using deathblow in the dagger tree. It's particularly hard hitting when the enemy is at below 50% health, and there's an upgrade that eliminates the cooldown if you actually kill an enemy with it. Not so useful against bosses, but against large mobs, it's pretty awesome. My only problem with it is that it's a bit too situational to be effective as part of a regular build. So, here's my current setup for active skills (I don't remember my passives at the moment). 1. Stealth with the Clinging Shadows upgrade (stay in stealth mode for three seconds after giving or receiving damage) 2. Flank attack with the skirmisher upgrade (automatically enters stealth upon making the attack - the Clinging Shadows upgrade affects this) 3. Twin fangs (I have the unyielding fangs upgrade, but either one would probably be fine depending on your playstyle) ... and a number of other things (I'm on PC - we can have 8 active skills at a time, though a lot of them are situational. My typical strategy is to enter stealth, frontstab with twin fangs (rather than backstab) and get in a few free shots as Clinging Shadows wears off, use flank attack, then get another few free shots.

If you ever find yourselve in stamina trouble you should have a look at the passive: Looked Like It Hurt. I find myself using the same skillset, except for the spinning blades, I got hooked on the hook and tackle and its upgrade. Its really nice against certain mobs that keep flying away and it really helped me against some dragons aswell, you should try it :3 Great vid btw, really enjoying your dragon age stuff

requires you/cole reaching lvl 27 and possibly two amulets of power (one for cole or if you are a human rogue inquisitor)... Dual wield tree flank attack + upgrade that takes you into stealth Dual fangs and its"vanilla" upgrade Twirling Blades and its "vanilla" upgrade Death Blow and "vanilla" upgrade Assassin Tree All Skills, Passives and "vanilla" upgrades except for the focus ability Subterfuge Tree Stealth with "vanilla" upgrade and the the two passives straight after it Sabotage Tree (for level 27 and power amulet(s)) caltrops followed by the next two passives you can replace the stealth upgrade with the mark of the rift passive if its your inquisitor and you want the bonus focus from combos, but in reality you dont need it as I find I only do the focus abilities on High Dragons and the final part of the final boss fight (main game) I say Vanilla because I only have Xbox 360 and the last DLC you can get for that is Jaws of Hakkon, so I have never seen/used the added upgrades Gear... 2 Masterwork Dual Curved Blades made from Dragon Bones (Schematic found in Hissing Wastes Burial Grounds Ruins) both with nothing but tier 3 Dexterity in the utility slots as for the masterwork slots one with 10% chance of 5 hidden blades (Fade touched Plush Fustian Velvet, found on Red Templars) the other with 10% chance of 4 Hidden Blades (Fade Touched Ring Velvet, found on Corpses (best chance of getting is in the Exalted Plains, dont light the fires until you get one or two depending on how many DW rogues you use in your party)) Dense Dual-Blade Grips with nothing but Tier 3 Critical Chance. Superior Skirmisher Hat (tier 3 or Dragon bone if you have 4 spare) use dragon scales (10 dexterity, 10 cunning) Superior Battlemaster Armor (use silverite as main metal, it removes the class restriction) put as much constitution on it as you can, with Sunder/Bleed when hit and a masterwork that gives you 5 guard per hit with... Battlemaster Armor Arms with tier 3 max health & tier 3 Constitution, Battlemaster Armor Legs with tier 3 Constitution and Sunder/Bleed when hit I say Sunder/Bleed because on the 360 it says Sunder when I have seen videos of the game on other platforms where and it is called Bleed and even the wikis say Bleed on/when Hit not Sunder anyway thats the Assassin Rogue build I use for Cole or myself (when I pick DW Assassin, sometimes I use a Archer Assassin) Accessories (requires the free Black Emporium DLC) Amulet of The Rogue (Black Emporium) Belt of Life (Emporium) Ring of Slicing (Emporium) Superb Ring of Critical Damage

The Assassin build also works amazing with a bow. The throwing knives and mark of death work at range so you can keep your distance while still doing massive damage. Plus hidden step is a great skill to have and I believe it takes aggro off the character.

i pick the other first two steps on the sabotage tree: not for the spikes but the passive Look Like It Hurts in the stealth tree i don't use the sleep and go for the jump that is a great life saver when circled by a group of ennemies after you engaged combat. i also pick the passive left to shadow strike. Finally with a fade touched crafted armor that gives you +5 guard per hit, hidden blades becomes a 2 in 1 ability that makes you far less squishy (blades have the +10% chances of 5 more hits)

Personally i never did much damage with the shadow strike skill. The added skill on dodge is good because it makes you deal 300% of the enemy's damage to it when you dodge out of the way and I'm pretty sure that can lead to shadow strike too

it first choose dual daggers assassin then i change to archery because some people said it deal more damage and i din't like it how i feels, melee rouge all the way

A thought - forsaking the poisoned weapons and spinning blades, and using those points instead on any available passives might help the build. I see a lot of people looking at passives for what they *do* - whereas the most important function of passives besides the constant buff is the permanent stat boost of +3 to relevant skills. Dragon Age builds have always been designed around boosting main stats to empower your character. But with your other skills in place, the question is simply, "which of these have synergy with stealth, and can capitalize on buffs given by the rest of my party"?

Shadow of Cloaks? your normal focus ability as an inquisitor is much better. And Twin Fangs only from behind. i played as an assassin and my rotation was something like - stealth - Hidden Blade with upgrade - Flank Attack with upgrade to restealth - Twin Fangs - restealth - Deathblow if the hp is low from your enemy the only problem with Hidden Blade. it is buggy as hell.

Interesting build, VERY different from my tempest dw build. I'm happy with my choice of specialization, but those throwing daggers and that mark of death look really freaking sweet. The spinning blades from the DW skill tree isn't as good as deathblow IMO. Deathblow does more damage if the enemy is a little hurt, and if you kill something it doesn't cost stamina or go on cool down. I wish I could use the poison ability but I have eight active abilities and refuse to part with most of them, although I'm thinking of swapping dual strike with shadow strike.

I will try your build. However I do have problems at the moment with survivability. Especially in clustered groups with 2h warriors.

have u tried a bow build with hidden blades , throwing knives , leaping shot with the passive that gives u extra damage(5% +) with every hit ? try it , with mark of death i crit for 75k + xD ...

This build requires Human, all 5 Amulets of Power for the Inquisitor and is complete at level 24. Please note that the talents chosen in the Archery tree might have been patched to only apply to Bows, I am unsure. When I first developed this spec the passive bonuses applied to Dual Daggers as well.

i really think that later in the game spinning blades is out classed by kill blow and it is much stronger in the damage numbers

How you changed your normal attacks ?

I prefer a build with thousand cuts.. If done right you can kill the highland ravager dragon in 8 seconds.. you gotta have a bunch of other stuff on other party member too but still (if you're not content with your skill tree you can always find The Tactician's Renewal and duplicate that so you can respec all your members)

+iPURR Hi, im currently a level 4 rogue and playing under normal difficulty. Im somewhere in the Dennet (horse) mission and whenever i come across a group of mobs (templars and apostate) i get laid out pretty easily. Apart from the abilities trees what are the good early weapons can you recommend? Im planning for dual dagger assassin's build by the way.

Is Cole the only one who can get the assassin abilities?

this build is terrible. better one: left branch of assassin right branch of twin blade right branch of sabotage first blood from archery and stealth from subterfuge ^basically just do mark of death, flank attack, hidden blades, activate mark of death. if the target's not already dead finish them with deathblow gg.

I'm new to this game but I cannot find out where you upgrade your health bar. Enemies kill me in 1 hit BEFORE I even get a chance to use potions. HELP!!

Bow Artificer, Throwing Blades + Leaping Shot = Dead dragons in 3 seconds. Throw Em' All mines = 50 plus blow you the fuck up bombs that kill everything. gg ez op.

Well the build is fine but when u are using aoe daggers only. Im using normal daggers and the spinning blades will not work so well with them. Important thing is that u are playin on Cale, my main is a rogue and it will be pointless to have 2 rogues in team. Anyway I love this game even when Im playin at low settings and ur DA looks way better than mine :D

So I've been looking through my skill types of that's what you call it, and there is no Assasin I noticed you were playing as Cole not an actual main character. I believe if you are on your main character you don't have the Sin tree. Cool video though I will use that poison damage from now on lol.

Judging by your gameplay, you obviously don't know how to play a rogue. Is obvious that twin fangs "sucks", since you don't use the skill properly and don't go for backstab.
