It's hard to say which does more damage, energy barrage or winter's grasp, they're pretty close if you do the math, with energy barrage pulling slightly ahead on average (even not counting magic res debuffs), but since winter's grasp is always supposed to come after energy barrage spamming, it might do more damage then, on average.

Awesome video, my friend! I wasn't aware that qunari had such a massive damage advantage but upon crunching the numbers, you're absolutely right. (Around 35-40% from what I found) And the energy barrage/rune interaction is awesome! Any reason you're using the mage sword instead of encore? In addition to the buff passive, it was highest in my tests for dps, particularlybecause it can house a grip and blade. From what I've tested, many of the high-tier staff schematics outperform the blade (Hakkon's with dragon webbing is monstrous for ring of doubt nuking, for example). I know im late but im using solas as my rift mage now and then ill like to control him. I manly use my artificer archer was wondering if i just could leave him to the ai to control him.

I think you can also use immolate with no CD upgrade) with infinite mana it is really nice spell

So we can use whatever race we want but for min maxing go qunari, gotcha! Any helmet that youd recommend in that case? Always stuck with KE but rift mage CC and infinite casting potential seems a LOT more fun

In many videos, I see fire and ice spells opening in front of him in a triple way, but in my game, even these spells are not developed in this way. they still have single pops and other effects. Could you explain how this happened?

i haven't fully looked. but do you have any guides for solo NM on all 3 jobs . . pre skyhold? . . post skyhold i can solo on all of them pretty easily. but pre-skyhold. namely the templar/mage storyline quest and the quest which gets you to skyhold, are a bit brutal. That's with all crafts available to me from golden nug and previous playthroughs. I played with a dual dagger rogue and had to take some interesting approaches making full abuse of skirmisher and stealth. A few instances I simply had to reload the game to finish a quest whenever their was a promoted mage with regenerating shields in the hinterlands or the pre-skyhold quest. I feel like a warrior could probably do ok with abuse of guard and regeneration potions, but a mage i'm not entirely sure about. . . dealing with promoted mages with very few skills could be . . . interesting to say the least.

i keep struggling to settle with a spec but then every time i look at rift mage gameplay it just goes ham and looks like there's way more going on than other specs lol

Your dai build Video Is Not rly good No mage can use the thief Skill or can eq ah great sword so only If you use mods so your "mage,, build is Fake i playd it ah lot and as ah mage so iknow that it IS Impossible but even so nice Mod mage build
