Dragon Age Veilguard RELEASE DATE... Kinda?

Solas meant it on the epilogue: This will give you years ( a decade in real life) of peace.

October would be best if it is ready. AC Shadows comes out on Nov 12th, Bioware would do well to stay away from that date. October is also a month away from Star Wars Outlaws, October is the sweet spot between those two big games.

My guess would be end of October. Get out ahead of Avowed and AC shadows

A Halloween release would be so fun

I'm personally hoping for an October release as if it's November, especially end of November, I'm going to have a hard time getting the week off I was planning to take to play it immediately after the release.

This definitely coincides with what most of us were speculating. Late October makes sense. Unless there is a delay, then it probably will be Q4. Maybe they are waiting to be certain there will be no delay to be sure the date they give is the actual date and they won't deviate from that. My guess is the date Inquisition came out 10 years ago. I also have a sinister prediction that it will release on Oct 23, the anniversary of my injury.😮

Legit question though, have they been ACTIVELY developing and working on veilguard? Or did they shelf it for a while? A game they have actual 10 years of active work into sets up a LOT of expectations. They need to be clear about that imo

I really feel like the Game Informer articles did some damage. Not major damage, but like, I really can't imagine an entire article solely about nudity was something the DA team had in mind for the earliest stages of Veilguard's marketing. My hope for release, along with many other people I'm sure, is as soon as reasonably possible. I'd much rather October than November, anyway. But the wait will be much less painful as long as I stop having to hear the word "soon" again lmao

It's definitely going to release on November 18. These big gaming companies love their "anniversaries". Specifically the number ten for some reason.

October would be ideal for a release but I honestly think it will be on the DAI anniversary. But I will be happy to be wrong if it comes earlier!

With how much they keep making a point of saying, "It's been 9 or 10 years since Inquisition," I say I think an early November or even October release is possible!

I'm impatient and would really like to see more marketing, but it makes sense they would hold off on doing the push until a bit closer to the release date... that said I'm really anxious to see the character creator I hope they show us at least a crumb of it soon.

Time will tell how well this does. I wonder how many issues it will have and how fast they will correct them.

I’ve been hoping for September because it’s my birthday present for myself. But I’ve got three sisters and a nephew with birthdays in October so I guess I could buy it for myself to celebrate their birthdays. BioWare really has had the worst luck with marketing. Their games seem to succeed despite their marketing departments.

I am hoping for October at the latest but that is only because I want to play this so much. I think October would be good to avoid some big game releases. I think if this game releases when there aren't many other games coming out, it will sell ever better.

Personally I think it's likely to be around Friday 25th October or Friday 1st November. Try to be enough time before AC Shadows (not expecting it to be great) for it to be really picking up interest before others go on to AC, and my opinion on the marketing has been it's been awful. Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has a release date of 10th October which has been known about since 7th June and they have had 8 trailers since 20th March and although they have been smaller than I expect the Dragon Age videos to be (most around the character reveal time) something a bit more would be nice even if its short 5-10mins about one part of the game.

I want the game as soon as possible, but I do like the idea of releasing it on Inquisition's 10 year anniversary 🥰

Typical AAA marketing wouldn't be overly effective I think. No one trusts EA. Plus Anthem over the top marketing promising everything was a bold faced lie. Helldivers 2 and Manner lords are doing fine without the mass marketing bloat. I hope Bioware copies Larien. Videos of the team working, doing team building activities. Talk about development bloopers. In short, just be human and talk to us about themselves. I'm actually very hopeful. BTW, If the game is good, I'd love an old fashioned box set. I don’t know how common this is for mainstream games as it is for music (my assumption is, it is), but will the release date likely be a Friday? All the Q2 releases on the list are Fridays and it makes sense as people have time to play over the weekend. So any Friday between Oct 4 and Nov 15? 😃

I would love for it to come out Nov 18, for the anniversary of DAI, but I know most games don't come out on Mondays. Late October would be fine too

Well, I kind of guessed this time span myself, but I do appreciate the confirmation. September was what I was hoping for. October wouldn't be too bad. November seems late. It is what it is. Nothing can be done. Hopefully we'll get tidbits of info and maybe more clips or even videos of game play or something specific they want to show off. I'm guessing each month until release we'll see something. Bioware community with the devs used to be amazing. A lot of the people at Bioware communicated with the fans. Sadly, the community became extremely toxic. As time went on, less communication and then, they shut it down. People tend to forget their manners and also tend to forget that the Bioware employees are people too. Say bad things and sure enough, it has an effect. This is probably why you see devs with professional groups when they are interviewed now. I am psyched for Veilguard regardless. A lot of us are. Here's to 10 years of waiting coming to an end soon. I think that with the VA strike it will have thrown plans in the trashcan and so it should. I also think there is somewhere between zero and nil chance it will be GOTY, it may get a mention but won't win. That being said 18 Nov is by far the most ideal day as everyone has mentioned.

i always figured it was set for early-to-mid november, to lean into the holiday season. wouldn't be surprised if it ended up coming out late october potentially to avoid overlap with ac shadows.

The marketing campaign is pretty ass, tbh. If I wasn't already a fan of Dragon Age, my interest in this game would be pretty minimal. I've said before and I know it's not the same, but the blitz they did with the new Deadpool/Wolverine movie is both surreal to watch, extremely well done, and has made me actively want to watch the movie (though I will probably do it via a service where I can pause, because it sounds like there is a fuckton of fan service references and cameos, etc. Anyway, I agree that it will be a 1 -2 month blitz cycle leading up to release (I'm also kinda rooting for 11/18), so they have basically the next 4 -6 weeks to get their shit together to turn things around and what they come out with will have to be pretty to great to make up for all the crap still floating around there that they've already put out so far.

I'm DESPERATE for an October release because it's my birthday month and would feel like the greatest gift. 😭💕

star wars outlaws comes out in august and AC shadows comes in november i think it would be wise of Bioware to maybe try a realese after outlaws but before AC shadows so september would be a nice window in my opinion

Personally, I'm still working on my playthroughs. I'm on the last one in origins and then I'm going to play the Awakening DLC for two out of the four of my playthroughs. It's good to know that it atleast is on EA's slate but yeah, we're on the same page here. Their marketing so far has been pretty dated. 03:00 - Yes, some individuals in the Bioware fandom can be pretty...intense. But seeing as they obviously want to bring in new fans, what with the artstyle, the change to action combat etc - They really shouldn't hold back on memeing it up and messing around. If anything that's most likely going to bring more people to the table.

EA marketing is terrible. So for once I don't really want more their marketing. It was bad enough that I didn't knew that DA 4 is even RPG and not Battle Royale. I think BioWare killed their fan made marketing by closing BSN few years ago. Twitter is toxic as hell, so many people avoid it. Instagram is for shallow people so again .. you won't engage with fanbase. Facebook is dead in the water too. Problem is they lack decent non-toxic platform to post. They need platform which would actually draw in their fanbase. I definately do not want sex baiting of any kind like that OnlyFangs thing. It just speaks very poorly of your game characters if to engage fanbase you just try to use their horny nature. Also it's BioWare so you really should NOT invoke horny nature of playerbase, main reason why they closed Mass Effect 3 character discussions was because of endless Tali fans vs Liara fans fights over 'who is the best girl'. We've lost amazing threads like meme factor and mini trolling in memory of Javik one. At least other game discussions still were open, but not characters one for ME 3 which was sad.

Im a much newer Da fan i properley played Inqusition and all of its dlc last year, since that was one of my many backlog games so the waiting for Veilgaurd hasnt been that bad for me so i cant imagine how bad it was for people who stuck it out in the long run I can see the release window being either late October or early November i know companies love to put out games in that time frame for those sweet Hollidays sales numbers. The big reason why im looking forward to Veilgaurd is the deeplore stuff thats in it, im really into the lore of the Evanuris so i cant wait to see what insane reveals the game will have about them I also hope we get to hear Solas theme from Tresspasser i love that theme so much it really captures the tragic side of Solas character

Kala, what is your opinion on this: They would have told the release date if it was set in stone. So the reason they are quiet about it is because the game is not quite ready yet and they want to give themselves some leeway.

I’m someone who pays more attention to channels like Kala’s than official marketing. For me, the pre-release marketing for Veilguard is totally fine. I get that people are impatient, it’s been a ten year wait. But Developers are in a tricky spot with marketing. If they trumpet too loudly too long, people complain. If they hold back, people hate it. I like to see the game when it’s ready. I’m excited to play this one.
