The starting pose for 16 looks very reminiscent of the Terminator when he first arrived. If I'm not mistake, didn't Toriyama take a lot of inspiration from Terminator for the android arc? Not sure where I heard that but I can really see the influence thinking about it.

Pretty much all of the Android stuff, meaning Trunks, time travel and.......the androids were inspired by terminator apparently. He did that a lot.

@@thepixelman4776 I think he was a big fan. I mean even in the original Dragon Ball, I think Major Metallitron was the name of the character who was a legit reference to Arnold lol

The two influences are the Terminator and Astro Boy. Terminator for a robot originally designed the kill the parent of a person he would later protect. Sarah and Connor vs Goku and Gohan. Whereas Astro Boy was based on Dr. Tenma's deceased son. Dr. Gero based 16 on his deceased son, Gero the Younger.

im pretty sure major metallitron was pretty much a whole-hog ripoff of arnold schwartzeneggers terminator. though metallitron was merely a bodyguard who only happened to want to kill goku 'cuz he was an intruder. i see that in 16 too, but to a much lesser extent. though unlike the terminator 16 very easily shakes his initial programming of murdering his target, and was likely programmed that way by gero when he made him to look like his long-dead son. id say 16 would be the "good" incarnations of the t-800 but with an added love of nature.
