The fight made perfect sense when you look at the original; it's a game about Japanese delinquents, and it's all about beating up everyone to show you're the baddest guy in town. Who were the baddest guys in the videogame brawling business at the time? Why, the Lee brothers, of course. So let's beat them up.
I remember getting near the end of this game and hearing this music thinking wtf, then when I saw the boss fight this leads into I started cracking up before thuroughly getting my butt handed to me.
My brother and I grinded for so long for him to get Grand Slam to house the two of them. My job was running kick one of them if they fell out of the pile. We beat Slick/Simon so bad we thought he was an anti climatic joke boss
I know this is a 4 year old comment but this theme is actually the real theme of the original double dragon arcade game. Its not really a "rendition" cause they didn't try to change anything. It just sounds good on nes.
@@in_vas_por8810 the people that created double dragon are the same people that created river city ransom it was an awesome game my older brother use to play it's heart breaking I'll never in this life time be able to play this game with him again😢
I remember I LOST IT when I heard that when I reached the brothers near the last boss. I was thinking 'Wait.. Is that Billy and Jimmy Lee?' but their names were different 'Oh.. They want to be like them!' Lol But I shed a tear hearing that and had a hard time fighting them because DD was the first game I played before RR. Because I remembered that flashing title screen from DD.
Fun fact: If you have the Dragon Feet and Stone Hands equipped and get into a scuffle in close quarters with Randy or Andy, you can literally block a Cyclone Kick. No lie.
I remember playing RCR with my older brother for the 1st time and this tune starts playing the twins show up we scream of excitement omg double dragon etc and takes 10secs and we swearing like hell we got owned so hard XD good times ;)
there's a few more notes in the initial run up than on the NES version and this version is actually better in my opinion. Listen to both and you can hear it, this one sounds more "full" and complete.
I was so surprised when this came on, I was like DOUBLE DRAGONS lolololol! Then I proceeded to get my ass kicked. Came back with a couple of those jolt colas and OWN3D em.
I KNEW I HEARD THIS 🎶 SOMEWHERE!! I never played double Dragon till 2011 and heard the theme song. Now I know where I heard this 🎶. (Double Dragon is indeed a masterpiece).
It took me years to play this game, and I gotta say, it’s a masterpiece! Who ever came up with this game is a fucking genius, sorry for my language!🤭 but this game is fucking awesome! It’s the best beat ‘em side scroller I’ve ever played! I played the Japanese version first and just fell in love with it! And one day, I hope they release a 3D remake of this! The only problem I had with the game is the gap between in the buildings, if you played the game you’ll know what I’m talking about, it made it difficult to back track! But overall this is a solid game, and anyone who loves RPG brawlers like the Yakuza games, this game is what influenced Yakuza, although they’re different from each other but they share the same style! I can’t say enough how good this game is! If you wanna play this, play the Japanese version it’s better!👍
They kicked the living shit out of me the first time I got here as a kid. I wanted to read the dialogue of course. As soon as they finished talking they mopped the floor with me.
@@brianziegenbein7662 they kicked my ass repeatedly. and even as an adult if i dont time things correctly they sometimes still kick my ass....they are both clowns but very strong.
I played this game for the first time over 15 years ago and no matter what I did i could never beat the Dragon Twins. Tonight, on the Wii version I beat the dragon twins and then beat Simon on the first try. So worth it. :-)
I remember when i was a kid and this music started playing i said to my friend "Dude! Thats the double dragon song, thats cool, but why-..." the we proceeded to get a massive beat down as the Dragon Twins showed up outta left field and started whomping on us XD
OMG i didn play this is like years. first time when this song came on at the twins i was like holy hell. already knew it was gonna be a epic battle and had it set hard at the time. had a fun 10min+ damn i miss this game. they should remake this for the hell of it. on wii:). or hell. on ps3
double dragon n River City Ransom are part of the same universe. both Abobo n Oharra make appearences in the River City Girls where the roles are switched n the girls gotta save da boyz😁😎
Dammit. Wished they'd at least remix it or something. This is the exact same NES theme from Double Dragon 1. Not saying its bad, but after fighting Jimmy Lee in DD, it gets frustrating and then all you can remember about this song is his goddamn jumpkicks.
@VaderNES I forgot about that one. But can you blame me? That game was horrible. But I'm still sticking with the idea that a New RCR has to be on Nintendo.
claro que no todo era cuestión de tener el libro que te hacia usar las armas rápido creo que se llamaba "Grand Slam" y desde el principio los apañabas fácilmente con el palo, con el tubo o con la cadena.
