金龙游九天，
阖家笑开颜。
风舞萧声起，
鼓落盛世安。
Golden dragon swims on blue sky,
Families gather and talk cheerfully.
Wind dances, Xiao sings,
The sounds of drums show the peace of the world.
Dragon Dance was written in 2023. This piece is inspired by my poem Dragon Dance - a hope for a peaceful world. In this piece, I use the melody of a Chinese folk song “Xian Hua” (献花) as the center motif since the content of Xian Hua indicates people’s love for nature and spreads a positive attitude toward life, corresponding to the feeling of my poem. Meanwhile, the use of slap tongue in saxophone not only works as drums that accompany the central theme but also indicates the joy of the heart.
