It is important to remember that the hybridizer was “selecting” for flower… not fruit quality. We Dragon Fruit hobbyist acquired these varieties from the Epiphyllum hobbyist growers.

Won’t cross pollinating make for a larger fruit? Seems to work on the other varieties in my garden 😀

I'll probabky have to wait until 2025 to get fruit from my KVA, but I got a more mature connie mayer this year that should give me fruit next summer! Looking forward to both!

Great vid. My connie MAY have its first flower, and my first also. But alas no pollen for her, oh well. This year i was just getting things in ground. But i got all the cuttings rooted and potted that i got from you. Even el grullo FINALLY rooted for me. I have my sons addicted to df from the store. Cant imagine how good these types are. Being in small town west texas we dont get high quality tropical fruits, so i doubt the flavor is anything like these.

Great video. Personal choice for me is Connie Mayer... it tends to be larger, sweeter and more coconut. But I love them all.
