I could watch Tim Rogers aimlessly mow down Dragon Quest monsters with a horse while talking about the difference and backgrounds of its MIDI and orchestral scores all day

When you said "don't know how to google" my phone voice activated Google Assistant and looked up the word dragon Nice

Tim forgot to mention another difference the Definitive Edition has. This time punting enemies with your horse DOES give you EXP (a tiny insignificant amount but something nonetheless) as opposed to the zero EXP the vanilla DQXI versión gave on PS4 and PC. Just felt like pointing that out :)

"You do not need to play any of the first ten Dragon Quests in order to enjoy Dragon Quest XI." Well, sweet Timothy, that is exactly what I did after your last video review of Dragon Quest XI. You gushed and gushed about the series and made me want to play XI, but I am a broken person who cannot play a game without playing all of its prequels, so I played Dragon Quest 1. Then 2, 3, 4, etc. All the way up to 9, and skipped 10 because I had to, and then XI. Your video got me to play every Dragon Quest over the course of like eight months. And they were great.

I got it on my pc because of your videos. I've watched all of them. I immediately got the switch version for my girlfriend when she told me she had never played a real rpg. Last night, 7 and a half hours into her playthrough, I heard her yell "YEAH MAN IM GONNA RANSACK YOUR HOUSE!". I shed a single tear. Thank you Tim Rogers.

It's good to have you back, Tim! Did not expect to hear this much Grieg in a Dragon Quest video, though - but even that rinkydink piano arrangement of "Hall of the Mountain King" is, arguably, better than most of the new music Sugiyama wrote for DQXI.

I have this game on the PS4 and I've only played 5-10 hours. Should I sweat the differences between it and the Switch version? I'm considering trading it in and eating the monetary differences. I want to play it in 3D and i like the english VO. UPDATE: I just watched the video and realize it was 30+minutes of answering my question.

Hi Tim, I wanted to hop in and say that you single-handedly convinced me to play Dragon Quest XI for PlayStation 4 last year, and it was my second favorite video game *of* that year! (Also, my most favorite video game of that year was Celeste, which was also a game your videos convinced me to play.) I got the platinum trophy in the PS4 version of DQ11, and all the changes to this version seem really neat and I would probably really enjoy playing it! Unfortunately, I am *extremely enamored* by the way this game looked in 4K on the PS4, and every time I see the Switch version I really do wish they would just release the S version as DLC on a 4K platform. Hopefully that happens! I would buy and play that without hesitation.

How about Chrono Trigger remade in the Dragon Quest XI graphics? Sorry, I can't hear you over everyone screaming YES!

I just feel lucky that this is the first time I've played this game, I've never played any dragon quest before and this one being the first experience (for the switch) has been incredible. I am about 25 hours in, messing around in the casino, just having too much fun.

I haven’t played in depth a Dragon Quest game since the original Dragon Quest game on NES, I tried 2, 3, and even watched that Dragon Quest Anime to death when I was 12 that would be on Saturday Mornings at 6am on Channel 9, I have all the Dragon Quest Anime episodes on VHS from back then. Nearly 30 years later I still want to know how the Dragon Quest Anime ends... Sorry, I digress. Anyway, thanks for recommending Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S Definitive Edition, I’m fairly certain you saying Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age S Definitive Edition repeatedly had nothing to do with it. Tim, do you know how can find the ending of the Dragon Quest Anime that was Dragon Warrior in America? My inner child is sad to have never seen it.
