Dragon's Dogma 2: 10 Things The Game DOESN'T TELL YOU 

One thing it always tells you is whenever there's a ladder within 6 miles.

You can easily get an elven speaking pawn at the beggining, you can summon Rook, the guy that was with you on the griffin, by going to the summon history.

You can also use stamina consumables while you're on a monster to stay on longer

Elvish pawns are easy to find in the official pawn section and if you give the innkeeper flowers 2-3 days in a row she will give you a book that makes your pawn speak elvish.

Thief and Mages can also get over those large gaps, mages can levitate and thiefs have an ability which works like a double jump in midair. It's neat how different classes can handle traversal differently.

Another tip, this game lets you use certain armor/clothing as disguises. So for anyone stuck on the magistrate quest that takes you to the jails, you can buy a set of armor called “Marcher’s Armor” from the potion shop. If you’re wearing that armor in the jails, the guards think you’re one of them and won’t attack. I’m not sure if there are any other uses similar to this yet but it is a cool feature.

You can push cyclops over if they start to wobble, go up to their leg and while standing on the ground use the grab function and it will help push them down

Pro tip for beginners just starting. At the 1st rift you can hire up to lvl 10 pawns for free. Just touch the rift crystal while in the rift and click on official pawns. Then you can run around and your pawns will slay everything till you get past lvl 10.

Future readers, the micro transactions are similar to dd1 on console. Everything sold is available in game and is pretty similar to a tales game. It’s really not quite as bad as it is being claimed

Number 1. The game didn't tell you it'd have 21 microtransactions in a singleplayer game at launch. Edit: The people bending backwards to defend the honor of Capcom is kind of hilarious

Idk who gonna see this but this is my first time playing this series and i rate it 10/10 customization,companions, exploration its like all my favorite games put into one place and it feels good (Fallout, and assassin creed what it should've been all along)

Im 3 hours into this game and I must say I LOVE IT!!!! exploring is fun, combat is slick! I just dont understand why theres no lock on? 😕 oh well still plays good, i have much to learn and can tell the team who made this , did an amazing job. Game of the year condender for sure. Beautiful world and graphics , cool armor and weapons etc. Keep in mind im only 3 hours in 😅

There's a feature in the game where exclamation marks appear on the map and sometimes I'm able to take care of them and other times i literally can't see what this is supposed to draw my attention to. I climb the mountain, i go up the stairs, i check out the river bank, but the exclamation mark won't go away and i can't see what I'm supposed to be looking for. I understand when there are locked doors tho, but the others I'm unaware of.

Your pawns current level and layout is only updated staying at an inn. If you get your pawn to level 9 and stay in the house from now on your pawn will only be lvl9 for other players. Have to periodically save at the inn to upgrade them for everyone else.

About Microtransactions, doesn't most Capcom single player games have that like re and dmc with red orbs, street fighter is online but it has the same amount of optional ingame currency to purchase

Hey quick design change question on controller. I think we should be able to use the key pad for specific weapon skills of the three pawns. 3 buttons on the key pad can be the party members and if u press a party member (just alternating titles in the keypad ui spot) there should be where you can pick a weapon skill thats equipped in their arsenal. Hec even put a cooldown to go asking for a specific weapon skill from your pawn. And the last keypad button can pull up the commands we have already help, go, etc. Thoughts?

Downloaded DD2 this morning, played about 2-3 hours, and I’m into it. Perfect balance of new elements and making thing more fluid and smooth, while not disrespecting the original.

One thing it doesn't tell you is if you want to create a new character you have to go to your system save file and delete the entire save.. at least the original you could do it from the main menu.. not this time😱

The smaller you are the easier it is to climb up monsters Also if you on one side of a river and want to get to the other side if there’s a harpy nearby grab it while it’s flying and steer it over the river It can save you time and don’t worry about pawns they tp to you

The first game had you chase someone down too. I'm not sure the combat feels as good as the first game yet... I need to play more. I love that they still have the guy who makes forgeries for you!

there is multiple ways to get yourself across those broken bridges.. a few vocations have dash attacks, (save the game in case you miss) then jump across before you start to fall hit a dash attack and you should make it... you can also use the pawn commands "go" or "to me" to encourage your pawns to jump across, but sometimes they fail, or find another way. (you can also grab them, then throw them across) if you are a magic archer you can throw a pawn off a cliff, shoot them with a revive arrow, then once they are up, if you jump down to them they SHOULD catch you. (again i suggest saving before you jump)

Despite the micro transactions controversy and the reoccurring issues with performace… I’ve actually been having a lot a fun with this game. It’s a shame that the launch was ruined by poor optimization and the lack of simple quality of life options like a new game option.

Another thing is where you upgrade gear matters, as when you go to batthal and vermundian merchants they mostly upgrade the physical defense and damage. Whereas eleven merchants uograde magick damage and defense.

I’m so glad to hear the Art of Metamorphosis is back. Back in D’sD1 one of my favorite things to do were what I called “cospawns.” I sent pawns out into the Rift in the form of Jessica Albert, the Sorceress, Amazon and Elf, Geralt of Rivia, Letho of Gulet, Sister Hammer, and Link, Zelda and Ganondorf. For number 1, if you really want to explore past a broken bridge or a ladder that is too high you can switch to mage or sorcerer and levitate to them.

Played dragon's Dogma on my ps5 for 5 hours straight, never ran into a performance issue, loving the game right now. Didn't even know about the microtransactions, but most of them are optional.

I really want to try it but ill wait for a sale on this one.

Ok HOW do you get the bow training location? Im following the path but got to a cliff with a ladder that need to be knocked down. Obviously can't get to the ladder down so i cant get around the cliff. If there a way around?

There's another way to the sphinx that's much easier. If you follow the lanterns through misty marshes, the foggy area northwest of harve village on the map. You'll find an abandoned village. Near the back of the village are some rocks you can climb. These lead to a short canyon you can go through to get to the sphinx.

You can hire free pawns for the starter levels, they go up to level 10. Look for the option at the rift stone. I think you can also throw your pawns across those gaps. For ..fun?

I don't want to negate anyone's opinion but I've been enjoying an old school rpg that doesn't hold my hand and I haven't had any real big performance issues and I'm playing on a laptop with a 3060. I didn't even realize there were microtransactions until I saw reviews. I hate microtransactions with a passion but I'm pretty sure these are completely optional and it's not a looter so you're not at any disadvantage if you completely ignore them.

If you sell quest items you can buy them back from the scrap store in checkpoint rest town

Falcon, or anyone in the comments, how do you get the sword from guard captain after buying the house in vernworth? I've owned that house now for the last 50 hours of gameplay, I've completed a bunch of quests for Brant, I've received gifts outside my house from other NPC's, but this "sword from guard captain" has not been mailed to my house yet. What's the name of the sword and what quests need completed before he leaves it for you? I've maxed out Archer and Fighter, so idk if this sword is even good for my level anymore

So when I got the shadow quest, with the guy that follows you around, I wasn't sure what to do so I just ignored it. I did other quests, ran around the city collecting chests and coins. Then after a few days, the guy would run up to me and shout "You!", then just stand there. I assumed he might have something to do with the shadow I was supposed to find, so I googled it. Sure enough, images of that guy were in the guides. So I walked up to him and grabbed him. He never ran from me. He just stood there and when I grabbed him my character tackled him like I had been chasing him, then the cutscene played.

I gained the ability for my main pawn to translate Elvish for me when I maxed out an elvish guard's affinity. I don't know yet if that is the way you are supposed to get that specialization but that's how I got it.

I finished the game at lvl 38 with a mystical spearhand. The game doesn't tell you but suggest that you sleep before going forth so i did. I'm glad i did because i had unfinished business and more to explore...and i didn't know that it was the final boss or ending. But i reload at the last inn slepted. The main campain isn't has long has i'd hope. The fact they let you reload last inn is a cool thing though.

Number 11: it didn't tell me it doesn't have a performance mode on PS5.

Is there anyway to change your main pawns appearance, i wanted to make mine really tall and strong but i thought we were making the whole group rather than just the main lol but is there a way to at least use the art of metamorphosis on the main pawns?

Poor performance and microtransaction is what the game doesn't tell you. Wait 2 or 3 months, by then it will be probably be patch and cost half as much. AAA game 101 course.

Number 0 : the main thing the game didn't tell you is that this game isn't optimized to get playable in normal rtx4090

I wonder if this game also has the level up system. For those who don't know in Dragon Dogma one your class dictated your level up stats (if you're a mage your mag would go up, if you're a warrior your strenght would go up) which is reasonable. However, if you spend your entire first 50 levels as a mage and shift to a warrior your strenght would be subpar, min maxing here is what class to level up until when to make yourself the best version. So you can level up as a warrior at the start and change to an archer to get the strenght buff and have the range option (same with mage and magic archer) Depends of the build but if it's like that then i'd recomend mapping the levels (you can reach level 200) and how you want your stats to go up, and change the adecuated jobs for the better highter ups jobs.

Catching the shadow is similar to dragons dogma 1 in the starter village were you catch a theif, that took me forever to do
