Dragon's Dogma 2 Patch First Look... There IS Improvement 

I always wait 6-12 months before buying PC games now.. lower prices with most major bugs fixed. People who buy games on release in 2024 are unpaid QA testers.

Seemed like there were way less NPCs on the new patch footage... Gotta wait the in-depth review to se if this is actually the case.

Complete waste of a great game. Thrown in the trash by Capcom themselves. This shit happens with 99% games its pathetic.

Performance is still rough on PC (RTX 4070, 1440p quality, DLSS 3) but is fine as long as you use frame gen.

I played game on my ps5 from launch never had any issues put 125h in did both play throughs for the endings had a blast loved it not sure what these clowns are even talking about as far as game was unplayable must be haters.

Even outside the town outside of combat where nothing is happening only get 30fps at 1440 dlss Q

I usually never buy games on release, mostly a couple of months or even years later. But this one I wanted to play badly., so I bought it a couple of days after the release. It crashed every time on my PC after the first 2 hours in the game...tried everything to make it run, nothing helped really. Never touched it again since then, going to try again after this patch.

Gaming is dirt nowadays, finish your games ffs. People are happy with the bare minimum and praise devs for "fixing" a game months, sometimes years after launch. Technology being as advanced, shit shouldn't be this way. Games were better when they had the drive and heart for the craft. The only "drive" they have is for money

For some reason, on my Samsung tv, 120hz mode with this game causes the screen to have the black’s pulsating. Other games run fine but it’s only this game and I can’t find a fix.

I got to disagree with John I played Dragon's Dogma on PS5 and it was not unplayable. So I think he might be over exaggerating.

Gosh... what do you even say to this? Is developing a smooth performing game really that much of a struggle nowadays?

Broke most of my mods, and wouldn't launch even after uninstall, so I just deleted the game folder entirely and reinstalled the game and added the newest REFramework mod and it works now (with some mods not working currently). BUT, first of all you get DLSS 3 and not being dependent on changing DLL files (which is what I suspect cause the issues I had at first). Performance is more stable (not great but not as bad as before). Overall good improvement on capcom end, I hope they will keep up the work.

do OLEDs still flicker like crazy with g-sync? I know the C1 did because I used it

On my Series X it looks way less sharp when i turn on 120hz mode. But its really fluid. Looks like 1080p for me. The 120hz mode button being separate from graphics options is weird.

Dragon's Dogma's problems go beyond performance issues. Because it failed to be significantly better than DD1. They somehow made the story worse than the original. And even made the last boss fight a parody of the one in DD1. And the quests are terrible. Not to mention that the game feels like a lesser experience than DD1's. Even without the Dark Arisen expansion. Anyone still on the fence about DD2, just wait for the version of this game that comes out with a Dark Arisen type expansion. And even then, wait for reviews. And I don't mean performance reviews. A mid game is still a mid game regardless of how well it runs.

It's still a problem playing it on Xbox sucks so much blur the frame rate is all over the place bad experience

It would need to be one hell of a patch to make me pick up and play it again, and I have a 4090

I bought it and have 1 hour of playtime. Just waiting for it to run well and smooth. It gave me motion sickness like a mf.

If you play on pc, watch a few videos before buying since most of the time they got performance issues. Games like this I usually play it on ps5

July 11th DD2 PC patch reintroduced the frame time variability issue in cities again.

I put it away for the same reasons as John. With this patch I aught take a look

dynamic resolution locked 60 fps motion blur off ray tracing off chromatic aberration off surely that would solve the issue?

played the 2 hour trial on PS5 and now I'm itching to buy the game, too bad it's still too expensive in my country (even with the current discount).

My problem is that o don't know what to do in the game...there are no primary missions and I just keep walking and killing.

I thought buying the Xbox port was a good idea. It was not.

Any idea if it got any better on Steam Deck? I've seen some devs implementing FSR3.1 (Horizon), that seemingly improves playability versus previous versions.

No issues with DD2 on PS5 at launch. Aside from the mediocre musical score and some head scratching side quests, this game was breath of fresh air compared to all the souls-like games in recent years. I am glad Capcom is still working on patching this game, though, I too am tired of developers launching games these days before they are ready.

I tried the 2 hour free trial and I uninstalled it after about 5 minutes of playing, it still has framerate issues on PC and the controls are bad.

I just can't fathom how the company that released the Resident Evil remakes also released this completely borked mess of a game.

Yeah modern Gamers asking this. Developer has money to raise nvdia, Intel and amd next gen product + expensive hollywoke voice actor but developer doesn't have money to make a game with best gameplay and better optimization 😂 Anything is too obsessed for hyper photo realisistic graphic. All investment go to shitty UE 5 and denuvo.
