People were asking about the warenty and I said I didn't know so I received the information in an email from the manufacturer. the details are listed below. The Sanlida compound bows are backed with a Limited Lifetime Warranty to the original owners. This warranty will apply to limbs, risers, and cams. The warranty consists of the following programs: Limbs: The first 5 years cover the 100% warranty at no charge. Risers: Lifetime Warranty Cams: Lifetime Warranty Items Not Covered Strings, cables, arrow rests and component parts, cable guards and cable slides are expendable components of a bow and are subject to a variety of conditions that are beyond our control. Thus, Sanlida cannot and does not extend any warranty for these parts. Original Owner The terms of the Limited Warranty are a part of the sale between Sanlida and the original purchasers. The warranty is nontransferable. Proof of purchasing may be required. Damage Not Covered Transportation and insurance charges for the return of the bow are not covered. Damages caused by abuse, mishandling, dry firing, alteration or modification made to original products are not covered and will void the warranty. Additionally, shooting of arrows less than 5 grains per pound of peak draw weight will void this warranty on all bows.Sanlida reserves the right to make parts substitutions on warranty coverage at Sanlida’s sole discretion, for any reason. Bow Warranty Registration For this warranty to be in effect, please complete the warranty registration at Sanlidaoutdoor.com and submitted within 30 days of purchase

The Sanlida Dragon X8 is the most talk about bow on youtube channel. I think this bow sold the most in the market due to its price. Its good value for money. Before I bought mine I reffered to many reviews about it on youtube. What I like about this bow is the smooth draw but what I am not comfortable with is the grip which over time I got use to it. I find your review most informative. I once forgot to put on the arrow and hence dry fired it. Fortunately the bowstring did not dislodge. Thank you Sean for your most informative video.

What kind of drop away rest would be good for this bow? Also what kind of sight. I want to upgrade both. But don't know what is good? Thank you and God bless.
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors Год назад
Pretty much any drop away rest will do the job. I have a QAD Ultrarest HDX on mine and it works well. I have a Limbdriver V-pro on my other Sanlida bow. Limb Diver rests tend to be more reliable after a few years of use. Maybe look into the Limbdriver V-pro as an option. It is one of the less expensive limb driven rests. For a sight, I have been using trophy ridge sights for the past five years. Some of them have had the level fall out because the manufacturer wasn't putting strong enough glue in them, but they have mailed out replacement levels each time it happened. I especially like the sights that have three pins but the bottom pin can adjust out to 100 yards. While I mainly only shoot to 40 yards, it is nice to have that feature. Hope that helps. God bless you.

I am loving my Dragon X8. Tuned quickly and this video was an incredible asset. I've bought a new sight as the one that came with it stripped out the hex head pretty quickly. The question I've got is that the bow is fairly loud, what would you recommend for quieting it down? String silencers? Limb dampeners? ... All the above?
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 3 года назад
I'd suggest something like these amzn.to/35wUH30 or a second option would be string leaches like these amzn.to/2J7lfjJ I actually have the first option on my Elite and they seem to work nicely. I hope that helps. God bless ya

Sean, your video was helpful on tuning my Sanlida Dragon X8 compound bow; it's brand new. I did a draw and release of the string to see if I was going to need a forearm guard. The string came off. Can you send me a link on restringing the bow on my own, without the aid of a bow vise? I love your witness and your site logo. God bless you, Bro!
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 4 года назад
Wow you should never ever draw a bow back without an arrow on it and let go. That's called dry firing a bow and as you experienced it can ruin a bow. You need to loosen the limb bolts out far enough to put the strings back on and tighten the limb bolts back up. Only tighten two full turns on one side at a time.
@genedelong4755
@genedelong4755 3 года назад
the cams are fine. I did weatch that video and you explain it really well but it'ds too dark to see where the string actualle gets placed. . I will call Sanlida and ask what they can do. thanks. I'll have to retune all over again tho.

The string attaches on the post on the cam and goes directly around the center of the cam to the other side.

When and if you do read this, May you help me select the best arrow for the dragon x8... btw loving your content. The amount of information you give is amazing for someone new like me. @seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 3 года назад
Arrows are rated for draw weight so get an arrow rated for the draw weight you intend to use. 50 to 60 pounds is usually around a 400 spike. 60 to 70 will be more like 300 spine. I like Easton and gold tip arrow brands. Go on their website and they have selection guides telling you what spine.arrow.thwy recommend for your type of draw weight and cam. God bless Sean

Hello Sean. I realize this is an older video now, but we bought my son the dragon x8. He's been growing into it and his draw length has increased a lot. We've adjusted the length multiple times without issue. On this latest adjustment he shot several arrows, and then when he shot the arrow didn't move and the bow dry fired. I thought for sure that he didn't nock the arrow right until it happened again. I watched him nock the arrows and this happened about 4 times before we stopped shooting suspecting a bow issue. Have you ever heard of an issue like this? Sometimes the arrow shot fine, other times the arrow stayed like a dry fire. Thanks.
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors Год назад
No I have not. Make sure the nick of the arrow isn't cracked. Sounds to me like it could be a faulty nock. I can't imagine another scenario.

I'm struggling to understand why the rest is fitted to the "inside" of the bow. Would it not add more stability to the arrow as it is released to mount it on the side furthest from the string?
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 4 месяца назад
The arrow rest is bolted on the opposite side of the riser from where the arrow is shot off of the shelf for clearance reasons.
@BarefootBeekeeper
@BarefootBeekeeper 3 месяца назад
Sorry, I didn't explain myself well. The pin sight is positioned as far forward as the bow will allow, as that gives the maximum distance between the peep sight and the pin sight, which increases accuracy. So why is the rest not also fitted to the front of the riser, furthest away from the archer, so that the arrow is supported nearer to the tip?
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 3 месяца назад
Because the arrows would have to be even longer, and some people have a draw length so long that the arrow would be too long. Additionally, the longer the arrow is, the more it will flex in the shot process. When shooting with a mechanical release, the arrow bends straight down in the shot process. If the rest was that far forward, the arrow could flex into the shelf of the riser and prevent you from getting good arrow flight. God bless you.
@dumbledoresarmy7569

@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 3 года назад
All bows require quite a bit of tinkering with to get them to tune right. If you're having vertical nock travel issues try loosening one limb bolt a half turn, reset the draw stop timing and try again. If your having trouble with the draw stop timing, put a half twist in only one side of the yoke a d check the timing again etc.

Twisting and untwisting the yokes is dependent on which way the cables are twisted. Most string makers make their strings and cables with a right twist. I make my strings and cables with a left twist for reasons I won't go into. You better check which way the cables and yokes are twisted before putting on or taking off twists. Also if you put right twists on the yokes of a left twist cable, you're going to see the both yokes start twisting around each other.
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 4 года назад
You can call all string makers and bow makers in the United States and they will tell you that they make their strings twisting clockwise to add twist. You are an individual who makes your own strings and for your own reasons twist them counter clockwise, but you are right that bows that are not made in the United States could come twisted counterclockwise instead of clockwise and it is good to check.
@l.i.archer5379
@l.i.archer5379 Год назад
@@seansoutdoors here's the thing, I've seen PSEs come from the factory with a left twist on their strings. Currently, America's Best Bowstrings come with a left twist. I've been making mine with a left twist for almost 8 years now, and here's why - when you wind center serving on a bow with a right twist, you're going to wind that serving so those twists tighten up as the serving goes on - in the opposite direction of the string twist. This serving will naturally clock your arrows to the left as it leaves the bowstring. With a left twist string, the serving goes on in the opposite way, clocking your arrows naturally to the right as it leaves the bowstring. Most arrows sold at shops have right helical or offset on the vanes. The first 6 feet of flight off the string, you can see the arrow starting to clock left and then "correct" itself to start spinning right, thus fighting the natural rotation of the arrow. Check out this video by Lancaster Archery and jump to the 2 minute mark: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c85Z6isLhuQ.html

I'm not at home right now. When I get home I could measure the width and let you know what it is and you can compare that with the measurements of the bowmaster. Also, if you needed to, you can loosen the limb bolts so far on this that the strings and cables pop right off so you could technically work on it even if you didn't have a press.

There is a download owners manual on the Sanlida website. You turn the limb bolts to adjust weight but you should probably take it to a bow shop to let them do it if you are not sure. It's a standard double cam bow so any pro shop should be able to work on it.

My question is that with my 30 inch draw can I lower the draw weight to like 55/60 ibs and still have my 30 inch draw? the manual says that if you lower the the draw weight to say 60, then that sets the length to 25.5, or am I reading it wrong. thanks and God Bless.

What bow is better to get the dragon x8 or the bear cruzer g2?
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors Год назад
I personally think the Dragon X8 has advantages. There is one draw mod to go through all the different draw lengths, and it is metal not plastic. The bear cruzer G2 is a plastic draw mod, and you have to take it off and put a different one on every time you want to change a draw length by a half inch, which gets to be a bit of a pain. Those details give the edge to the dragon x8. Most of the other components are very comparable. Both use a double yoke system, etc.

Also, if the string came off without being dry fired then check the amount of cam lean the bow has before shooting it again. If one or both cams are leaning, remove lean by adding twist to the yoke on the side that the cam is closest to one of the yokes. This means you look at the side of the cam that is between the two yokes attached to the limbs. Add twist (twist it counter clockwise to add twist to Sanlida strings and cables) to the yoke that the cam is closest to.
