Valued his company at 5 million... Turnover of 1.5 million.. Gross profit?? (Hint: less) Net profit?? Hint: even less. Did they even make a profit?) No idea but if they did it's a hell of a lot less than 5 million when the top line (turnover) is leas than 1/3 of his valuation.
So after watching a bunch of these dragons dens.. Most business that the dragons ACTAULLY invest in, are still tiny or have gone bust. Very PC, the only pitch ive seen laughed at by the dragons.. Now has a 1.5 MILLION yearly turn over.. Its one of the most sucessful businesses thats been featured on Dragons Den.. AND IT GOT NO DRAGON INVESTMENT !
Right, but how the hell were they supposed to know that? Angel investment is like stock market trading. You only do well out of it through taking a lot of risks, failing a lot more often than you succeed, but it balances out from the few where you win big. Some angel investors may not even make an overall net gain from their follies. Depends what they're in it for.

All they do is build PCs using parts from a computer shop like a hobbyist. Anyone can do this. The "green" aspect is because they don't use powerful components therefore they use less energy. However this means its a slow PC and the computers are more expensive as they have to be built by hand. He presents himself like his company is a manufacturer of PCs instead of a custom builder so it is misleading.
Im with 3am and Adam and everyone else. i dont see the value in your part 2, you havent demonstrated to me what is your part 2's USP, and frankly, im a bit miffed at your entire pitch. All youve done is come here and waste my time, so im just going to make this simple..... im out too.
All he did was overvalue his business. If he asked for 50k things would have gone down way better. He is selling over 350k worth of it so clearly people are buying.
a green pc is overrated and should be cheaper not more expencive, its the power supply that can possibly make it greener and a greener power supply is inevitably going to be cheaper than a 1000 or 1500 psu.
A 'very p.c' server uses 60 watts and they serve 7 monitors each. to power 54 terminal (7x8=56) you need 8 servers. 60 watts x 8 servers=480 watts. 1 'ordinary' server uses 300 watts and will run all 54 monitors meaning in the business scenario peter set out using 'very p.c' would use 180 watts MORE power-pulling apart the whole 'green' pitch!..is that clearer?
I used to watch Dragens Den sometimes, but the show is kind of bent, few deals go though, the offers are skewered, sometimes expensive loans to the presenter, many fail in later negotiations.
This is the Directors cut version. At the end Peter Jones declares that he was only bluffing to get rid of the other dragons and offers Peter £500k for a 2% equity stake... what a guy. At least I think it's this version. Haven't got time to watch it all as I have to go poop now.
