david joe tidal is a music streaming service kinda like Pandora or spotify that Jay z bought for $56 million and sold stakes in the company to other artist such as daft punk, Jack white, the douche lead singer of cold play and Madonna, with a bullshit story of it being a revolution andwhen it's just about giving more money back to the artist. It's a horrible music app that's over priced really not needed..

Batman I did the same math right before I saw this comment, & you're spot on. & doing the math, compared to other companies revenue, Tidal would have to grow way too much, and it's a risk/reward scenario. He could make more than 20 mil on Tidal, but there's too many factors that have to go right for that to happen, and if it DOESN'T get to a billion (which I'm not seeing happening any time soon), then he lost money trying to be greedy. Plus, like my guy David said in this thread, he can use that capital to invest money now, to make even more. Apple is the NUMBER ONE richest company in the world, and that's their formula. & with Apple Music launching, the projected revenue for Tidal HAS to drop. It already didn't reach it's projected revenue before Apple Music. Plus, something people are not talking about is the diminishing of the pie. Yeah, the artists can have 2% now...but if the artists get equal shares, it caps them off at 50 artists. If more come along, that 2% diminishes. Like 60 artists can't have 2% of the shares each. That'd be 1.6%. It may seem like 60 artists is a lot to bank on now, but for Tidal to get where it wants to go, it has to recruit more people, because there's people who aren't fans of many of the Tidal artists except for 2-3 of them. I'm not getting a streaming service for 2-3 artists. I'd just buy their music straight up. Tidal is high risk, super high reward. Apple Music is no risk, high reward. Don't go broke trying to get rich.

Also business 101 states a business must have a clear precise mission statement to guide the company in terms of targeting their core audience and Tidal so far has way too many conflicting and hypocritical statements which is one of the main reasons why they are failing. Also them having that Confederacy press conference and Madonna on stage looking like she escaped from Shao Khans lair didnt help either.
