@@bottom-shottaoh you mean the song where he said good kid maad city made him fall asleep (objectively wrong statement) complimented his albums, said he fell off (even with kendrick having more monthly listeners than cole and selling out two of the biggest world tours in rap history). I say this as a cole fan, that diss was mid at best, as a song it's fire
The crazy thing is he can be if he wanted to. He's got plenty of lyrical hits in his catalog. I just wish he would give us an album of those type records minus the club & bedroom stuff
@@BirdBrain22 he don't do that anymore man. He knows where the money is and that's what he's chasing. Can't blame him too much. But anyone that has listened to early drake knows the man can bring heat if he wants to.
Drake's music is like the food you get in McDonald’s. It sells well worldwide cause even a kid can understand its taste but not much nutritious contents in there. Kendrick and Cole’s music are FINE CUISINES!!!
But that mcdouble and Mc chicken be 🔥 fire lol , I put Nas and cole on same boat they get slept on so much there crazy smart, and Kendrick paint the picture and give u the picture with the video adds extra to it
What you said is whole truth. All Drake drops is junk food to keep his sugar addicted fans hooked. Junk food will feed you but it won’t nourish you and help your growth.
@@1700yungin He underrated. Out of the people that came out around Cole Kendrick and Drake Meek Mill the only other artist that you could put near Sean. He don’t get the flowers he should imo
It hit hard when he said when the decade about to turn. From 2010 to 2020 I was bumping all 3. I'm still fly from drake, j Cole lights please, k dots high power are still tracks I can't let go of.
Because these little niggas want heroes. But Drake is a man. Boys don’t like men. They like cartoon characters. Nigga who pretend to be perfect. Drake’s authenticity and vulnerability doesn’t equate to boys.
He maybe is a nice guy in person and his music sounds good but you can't respect jim for his music because he doesn't even write. If you want to transcend at least make sure that's actually you doing the work and not just being the face. Drake is just a marketable image but kendrick and j cole do actually care and can have respect for their actual craft and the talent they keep showing. Drake is not even a rapper at this point, he's doing R&b and singing with a lot of corny lyrics.
@@mile_851 you can be salty about him all you want but he’s at top their topping the bill boards for years. And about the ghostwriters, every artists have writers. And drake does too. And no they don’t write his entire raps. If they did people would’ve figured out the fake shit in the songs by now. There’s a reason why he’s at the top for this long and that’s talent and hard work.
Cause they are humble and they gonna show respect regardless but cole once said "bro gotta a long way to go if he ever think he gonna catch up with cole" (he was speaking in general) but still that means he was referring to anybody
3 headed monster? Damn, K. Dot must got 2 heads then Edit: This is a shot at Drake, not Cole. Drake knows how to sell trash and the other two make great music. RIP good Drake music 2009-2016 🙏
@@SteelKreel you can't be the king of rap if you're not rapping lol drake by far has done the most for the rap game then kendrick drake supports smaller rappers by giving them features he promoted king of the dot alot he constantly is puting music out and he's really out there kendrick has put out like 5 features is the past 4 yrs going on 5 I like kendrick alot but I'm made that he's gone for half a decade and comes back and thinks he's the king of rap still
@@mvpmoss8497 You can’t be the king if you got ghost writers or if you’re so inauthentic you pretend to have a Jamaican or English accent. Kendrick’s discography never misses, that’s why he’s the king. From Section 80 to Damn it’s been great album after great album. Drake releases a lot of music sure, but isn’t nearly as consistent. Quality > quantity any day. Whatever we’re waiting for will be worth it. It sucks because Drake has it in him to make great music (IYRTITL proves this) but he’s a massive pop star so the expectation to drop every year or every two years and be overexposed to everyone is more important than being patient and crafting a special piece of art because it makes more money. It’s almost as if he’s trapped by being as big as he is
They can all transcend because they focus on different goals. Drake focuses on sells, and being popular. Kendrick and Cole focus on bars and are focused on getting better with time.
Yes drake is the bigger artist between them 3 hands down. He purposely raps the way he does because it generates numbers. But if he stayed on some conscious shit he would be better than kendrick
It's ironic what he said about how it's now the time to see who can "transcend" among them. Kendrick and Cole's last albums were amazing and everyone just got finished spitting on Drake's.
Kendrick's my favourite but Drake's given us quite a lot too and i think we've taken that for granted since he drops so much music. He's inspired a whole generation of rappers/rnb singers and influenced the sound of rap music. There's a Drake song for almost every moment. I'm not fucking no bitch to some Kendrick.
Yeah. He's smoking rocks if he thinks his name belongs in the same breath as Cole and Kendrick in the conversation of hip-hop's GOAT's and transcendent artists. There's nothing transcendent about what Drake does or his discography. Let's not confuse transcendence with crossover appeal.
Drake is an artist he can do what the other 2 can’t do. At the end of the day isn’t about only about rap it’s about music and that Drake will always win
I always said Drake is an artist probably one of the greatest entertainers of our generation Cole and Kendrick are rappers some of the best MCs of the generation
Drake is pop, pure and simple. A pop artist who raps known for weepy or generic 3 minute pop songs that become an ear worm. Kendrick Lamar is an artist who has honed his craft in the genre of rap. One is fluff, the other dynamic. How this guy can put himself on his level (and so ordinarily too) just shows you that confidence over competence can drive you everywhere.
Kendrick speaks for the people. He speaks for the people's soul. Every lyric he makes is like food for our soul. He never fails to speak for the culture because he never strays away from it. Cole speaks to the people. He speaks to the people's hearts. Every lyric he makes captivates our minds and speaks to our hearts. He stays connected to the community and knows how illustrate the communities pain and struggles to capture our hearts. Drake speaks through the people. He speaks through the people's ego or fun mind set... whatever the occasion is. He just knows how to keep up with trends, transcend trends, and start new ones. All Three Are World Class Artists. I am blessed to apart of each one of these artist's journey. 🙏🏾
Krit is truly special, but the era in which you blossom and how much your style transcends internationally plays a huge role. Don't get me wrong though, Krit is special, but a selected bunch of musicians with good taste put him on a feature but not too not a broadening scale.
There’s a difference. Cole and Kendrick didn’t compromise their music for relevance with the younger generation. Drake went straight pop and bubble gum music. Drake music aging well stops at Nothing Was The Same.
Views has great songs that still hit today Hotline Bling and One Dance are worldwide hits that been playing everywhere for years God's Plan a timeless hit too
Y’all say y’all can’t respect him for no writing his own music but don’t even know he’s in the description of most of the songs you know of today. He co writes
Why not he’s been the game as long as them, he has classics just like them, he’s just not really in the conscious lane to their extent but his introspection has been up there for sure. that’s like saying Jay z can’t be the in the convo with Biggie and Nas
@@romaretaylor9953 yeah i see where you are coming from and i agree with some of your points however jay z is an amazing rapper and drake really isn't. He doesn't really have a classic album since his albums doesnt really get better with time he jst makes music for the time that it is released in. He is also known for using ghostwriters and also his music doesn't really connect with me since he talks about not getting girls being a "sad boy" even though he says that he isn't which creates this disconnect from him and his music and the reason why people love kendrick so much is because kendrick actually experience things thats in the song he wrote also you don't really need to be a conscious rapper to be a good rapper
@@hungnot9139 I stopped reading after you said his albums don’t age well with time. If that was the case nothing was the same and take care wouldn’t still be breaking records Today like good kid maad city and forest hills drive are. That’s literally the definition of timeless music 8-10 years
@@romaretaylor9953 ok but take care really isn't a classic album. Also drake is a superstar and cmon, he can put out a half assed album and that album will still break records because it is drake hes a superstar
@@hungnot9139 he was doing that before the streaming era. I get you clearly despise him or you were too young to understand his appeal but I gotta keep it real
@@mentalexwar i agree DRAKE CAN RAP, but this dude is correct hes not on the level of a J Cole or Kendrick. At the beginning of there prime they all had 3 different styles & i think for wut each artist did in there style they were all Neck & Neck but over the years from artist evolution to lyrics Kendrick has peaked to a different level. J Cole still makes good music but not as good as his earlier albums altho the off-season was a come to shape imo. Drake def has dropped off quality from his albums & rapping ability because as u said hes going down pop. I think its interesting tho bc we give credit for Drake to get big numbers, but y dont we give credit to COle & Kendrick for also putting up monster numbers while staying true to themselves & never folding to the mainstream?
Imagine living in a world where all you care about is how to respond to somebody else instead of just live in your life…? I’m surprise most rappers don’t die young of a heart attack with this shit.
Drake might not me lyrically up there with the other two, but he compensates on other areas. People saying he not in the top 3 are just hating. You can dislike their music but you gotta recognize their success.
As an entertainer, consistent music that's guaranteed a banger....cmon now Drake is up there with Kendrick and Cole....a lot of people down play his success cause he's not a lyrical genius but we have to put some respect on Drakes name and what he has done as an Entertainer and as an artist
These three are my favorite rappers today, i in no way like Kanye West only his older music. These 3 dominate the today's rap game, I love their music.
When are we going to understand. Drake is a great musician. He can make dope tracks but he is a wack rapper. If we’re talking about lyricists, Drake is nowhere near Cole and Dot. Let’s be objective here.
How is Drake a whack rapper? He outrapped Cole the last time they worked together. He was a lyricist WAY before he was pop. Listen to an album of his for once preferably older work
@@romaretaylor9953 and not the ones they all hear and judge on, like suck pop songs, and radio hip hop songs. You ain't heard Drake rap if you continue to say Drake can't rap, check the unreleased, underground, mixtapes, am/ pm series, you will swallow your words
