The reason this beef broke containment out of the hip-hop community and hit the mainstream is specifically because of who Drake is in conjunction with the actions he took to hype up the beef prior to Euphoria dropping. These are the facts: Drake tailors himself to appeal to the largest possible audience. Drake has been a household name for over a decade, even among people who don't really listen to his music. Drake keeps a heavy social media presence. Drake is connected with popular streamers -- Not just dudes like Ak who focus on music, but dudes like Kai Cenat who have a much broader appeal and are able to capture niche audiences of nerds who may not otherwise give a fuck about what's happening in pop cutlure. Drake hit mainstream success with Pushups but then turned around and brought AI into the conversation with Taylor Made, which further exposed/primed people to care about what's happening in a rap beef they might not otherwise care about, AND -- Drake himself either uses bots, or (if I'm being super charitable on giving benefit of the doubt) has stans who are insane enough to purchase bots on his behalf. In other words -- NLU got the airplay it did because Drake over-exposed himself by being extra and doing too much to promote this beef. He really wanted the whole fucking world to be watching his attempt to destroy Kendrick's career and the only thing he succeeded in doing was getting the whole fucking world watching.

This whole story seems fabricated in my opinion, all though I do think most artists fake streams or clicks. Those dislikes on drakes songs are real though no doubt about that 😂
Where I stand on the matter is no body who is in such line of work and is still desires to be in that line of work would ever speak of any of their clients because your reputation on being discrete is literally everything and that goes all the way across the spectrum from the most illegal shaddy botnet shit to the most legit impression farmers of the marketing world - if you talk shit about any customers then the rest of them past and future will never want to work with you because what's stopping them from being next. The labels pay for the botted plays its a deceptive tactic to generate virality in hopes to gain actual organic virality and plays. I personally think all if not most artists use the bots either knowingly or unknowingly. The likes and dislikes you see are organic in my opinion though, it takes decernment these days to see if a song,movie,meme,moment of culture is truly popular organically or only viral due to fake clicks which just turns into bandwagon mentality

All drake and his team can do now is try and move on but this was such a damaging hit that they are trying to to mis inform to make Kendrick look bad and will inflate drake.
