Spotify ALREADY doesn't make money with the current pricing structure so why would you idiots expect them to LOWER prices??? O_o Ala-carte music streaming is simply a fundamentally financially doomed concept. The math will never work. 🤷
They do make money you buffoon. They haven’t made a PROFIT until this quarter which I said in the video and that was before the price increase. Payroll is a business expense. I have no idea why you people think no one’s making money here
@@_FLWRS Lol making money and making a profit are the same thing. Revenue is irrelevant if you're spending more than you bring in. And a single quarter of profits doesn't even come REMOTELY F**KING CLOSE to filling the black hole of losses they've accumulated so far. The ala-carte music streaming subscription idea is fundamentally faulty. The math DOES NOT WORK! All it is is a way to scam money out of gullible investors (Spotify) or as an extension of a company that actually makes their money in other ways (Apple). 🤷 The business in and of itself though is unsustainable.
First off it’s “a la carte”. Quarter 1 profits on a subscription based service is highly indicative of future profits which is why their stocks went up after the news. Just say you didn’t know what you were talking about and fade into the dark. Payroll (people’s paychecks) is not part of profit. A company can appear to not make profits for year. It’s to evade taxes. The CEO said he doesn’t get a salary at all and I haven’t seen him begging for food. That “poor us, we don’t make profit” shit is a mirage. Just noticed you’re all over the comments defending your overlords lol. You love them I understand now. I know those knees hurt
I’ve discovered soooo much good music from Spotify though. I still want to own all the music. My favorite band actually makes physical CDs so I buy those. But I wish there were still huge music stores. Cuz I’d steam on Spotify discover something and go to the store to buy it or order it. Also you choose if it’s background or not. If you open up Spotify with the intent to really listen and connect then you will.
Gotten that a couple times. Other than the flower related name and AVI I don’t see it. We’ve had a conversation after the comparisons though! Cool guy and great content
I can do something about…switch to Apple Music. Oh..I already did. So much better and I hate that black and green Spotify interface….i hate it so much.
Gave up on Spotify and just use YT Music app now. Already pay for YT premium because I use YT so much so it made complete sense. Only drawback was making new playlists. If Spotify dosent have a profitable business model they should be taken out back so to speak. The amount of investor funded non profitable companies in the last 15 years is ridiculous. They need to just end.
That's why i have premium MOD on my motorola Moto Edge+ 💀 i don't gotta pay for shit. Same goes for YT revanced. I'ma go to YT music, ong, but i buy CD's to support the artist and listen to it, same with Cassette Tapes. I own them and i don't have to pay monthly.
spotify was never meant to be cheaper than that, that was just a marketing tactic to get people to try out the service. And if you only use spotify to listen to the same 3 songs, that's on you. I like the app for making playlists and discovering music. But I do agree it's getting increasingly bland and I wish there was an option between feeling like "familiar songs" and "new songs". I recently tried some niche internet radio stations and you really hear the difference of the songs that are less algorithm-optimized. But in the end, I'd still much rather have to play 11 bucks for spotify than being solely reliant on radio stations with obnoxious ads for discovering new songs
Okay, lemme say - there's no real reason to keep constant subscription on a streaming service, unless you are constantly taking advantage of a huge catalog, Like if you are using Spotify for work/hobby (like if you are involved in music industry as artist or engineer or A&R person or maybe a blogger or music journalist) and you need to have an access to a lot of music (specially all the new music) all in one app - that's fine. If you just playing couple of favourite albums on a repeat - do yourself and your favourite artist a favour - get a digital or physical copy.
I have an iPod classic which I sent off to some dude who puts SSDs in them so now I've got an iPod classic with 1TB SSD, rockbox installed so I don't have to use iTunes and a brand new battery. Admittedly 1TB was a bit overkill since I have less than 200GB music but this is near enough 20 years of collecting music. I do use Spotify sometimes. In browser. Free tier. With ad blockers 😂😂 pretty good for music discovery but $12 a month? Hell no. If I like stuff I usually get it off Bandcamp.
I am amazed that people still pay for music. 1. Download song/video from RU-vid using a third party app. 2. Convert to MP3 using a third party app. 3. Put in your music folder. So simple
Netflix and amazon on just as worst. Amazon you pay prime and still have adverts! Netflix I had to bring up the price from £4.99 to £10.99 due to adverts but most Important I animate so having Picture in picture useful. They had ads and no picture and picture for £4.99. I hate how these company are doing this raising the prices living in longing crisis everything expensive.
I switched to Apple Music, and paired with AirPods (bc ofc) I immediately noticed a jump in audio quality to the point I noticed new sounds in my music. And it’s cheaper.
spotify should give an opportunity to give some track/artist you like to listen for example 1 cent/listen straight to artist on top of that 10,99. that would not drain listeners too much, but would increase artist income a lot and would also go to artists the listeners actually want to support. you could also set the amount of money you wanna donate with every play. if necessary, spotify could take that 1% of penny for them to make up expenses.
Guys You can play MP3s on your android phones is you don't want to buy an mp3 player. There is also BandCamp if you want to buy mps3's from small and or medium artists. They even have and app to stream and download form. Hell you can still rip CDs if you really vibe with an artist like that. There are ways around Spotify.
I'm still of the mindset that i want OWN my music, not RENT it! A favorite movie, how many times are you going to watch it? 10 times, maby 15 or even 20 times? But a favorite song? You play that sh1t your entire life, which could translate in a 1000 times or even more! When i am out and about, and i have no service, i can continue to listen to my entire music library on my phone, but you? Not possible! We have crazy amounts of storage now, the biggest iPod ever was 160gb! But the iPhone 15 pro can go up to 1TB, can you imagine filling that baby up with just songs? I own a 128gb device with 20 gb of music, which is a lot of songs, and i can sync even more if i want! I will always keep my music offline!
I have an iPod touch 5th generation that I've been using since 2016, I've replaced the battery just last year and have also loaded it up with all my favorite songs. This thing now has 2,316 songs on it!
I was one of the few who still bought physical media or at least digital downloads from apple until just a couple months ago when we decided to get a family plan from Spotify. We had used the free version since 2018/19. Spotify was where I would go to hear new music and then I’d go buy what I liked. I have thousands of songs uploaded on my desk top a combination of my CD collection and digital uploads from Amazon and apple. I do enjoy Spotify premium. I still treat it like my Apple Music. I don’t listen to suggested playlists. I only listen to my own and I only listen to albums I’m interested in hearing. I do have to say there is a bit of “decision paralysis “ when I get into Spotify cause the option really is infinite.
Not a concert person, especially ones like this that are more celebration/party concerts. Like, Kendrick Lamar performing i at SNL, performing his heart and soul out, thats what i love, if i want to watch live music. But hot diggity damn it was a great concert and am so glad i got to watch it live. But more importantly, and thank you for putting emphasis on it too, Tommy the Clown and his dancers. Top three moment of the show, and every one of them got introduced, every one of them went all out as a group, and every one of them got at least one solo moment (extra shoutouts for the camera crew for making sure they all got on film qt some point too). I mean, Jay Rock my favorite rapper and him up there with Kendrick performing Money Trees, Kings Dead, and Win might not make my own top five moments. Shit, you know it's a good concert when people have to argue about what the best moments were.
Cancel all music streaming and start buying music. Streaming has trained people to not value their music. Streaming trains people to ignore what they’re listening to and just put on a genre playlist so the algorithm can feed you whatever.
if youre an android user there is no reason to pay for a premium music app. get youtube music (re)vanced or spotify vanced. just please get it through the official sources
I never stopped buying and downloading music and I don't regret it. Streaming is fine, but I don't see how it's an improvement over having my entire music library in my pocket available 100% of the time every time. Would rather spend 10-20 a month on tunes from bandcamp or w/e and call it a day 🤷♂
I think Google play music, before it merged with RU-vid Music, was a pretty good balance. You could buy tracks and albums as mp3s or subscribe for access to everything. I still have the stuff from there in archives from Takeout
As things started changing what i would do is listen to artist on digital and if i liked all the songs, i would support and buy the cd..but now they make it harder to get them. I would even support my fave Kpop artist and buy their cds from Korea and they give you a LOT for the money. I dont mind supporting in that way...all these companies are getting on my nerves raising the price
Buy a big dap (or this unsponsored ad I'm making below lol) Biggest DAP(-phone hybrid) right now is the Moondrop MIAD01 5G. It's made by an IEM company, Moondrop. It has both 3.5 and 4.4mm jacks. It also has a built-in dual CS43131 (DAC) so any IEM/earphone you plug it in with will already be powered with the DAC. Unfortunately no gain control. It also comes with 2TB expandability so you can store _a lot_ of music with it. Other specs are: RAM: 12 GB ROM: 256 GB CPU: MTKD7050 Screen: Curved OLED Screen size: 6.7" Charging speed: 33W (PD) Battery: 5000 mAh Back Camera: 64MP+8MP Macro Front Camera: 32MP Not the best about it though Price: 399 USD Now before asking about Bluetooth Capability-- IDFC for shit I want those jacks. Bummer things about it though: Doesn't come with certain accessories like 1. IEM/earphone -- seriously, the one thing they could've added given they make one themselves. 2. Charging adapter and cable -- 3. Phone case 4. Tempered glass All of which are expected from a Chinese phone company but they didn't include any of those. Probably walking in Apple's footsteps. Hopefully not if they release a V2 So to all the pirates out there, if you're looking to upgrade your phone anyways, I guess it's time to change
I stopped using Spotify for music once they started playing 10 commercials after every 2 songs. And I wasn't going to pay for an app with a trash shuffle feature. I only still have my app so I can listen to my friend's podcast.
Bro, this is the second time in only 2 years they have RAISED PRICES. What a joke. I don’t even get more value for paying more. I cancelled my premium yesterday.
