If I look back at radios that have SYNC functions, I would have to say the winner was my Sony CRF-V21 receiver. When you look at the schematic of the radio, Sony performed some amazing engineering and design for this radio. Mine was a very rare model as it came with the GOES portable satellite antenna. Sony only made 10 of the antenna, and I was one of only 2 know to be in existence. I had a super collector in Japan who wanted my radio and Sat Antenna, he made me an offer I could Not Refuse. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$... So I sold it so I could go get my Flex 6600M receiver. The Flex has Sync functions, but not as good as the Sony receiver... I had replaced all the Bad know capacitors, something like 42 of them, common problem, but worth the effort.. I have to say that the SYNC in the new DSP2 receiver is also very good.. Better then my Flex radio, $350 vs $5400!! Crazy... Robert

Great comparison of the different receivers synch or ESSS on the Icom. My old Sw8 was an early model and it was Double Sideband Synch just like the Lowe. The SW8’s synch also broke lock easily on close up similar signals like when you started your video. That’s what I like about my Belka (all-mode-2022) model or my SDR’s using various software. It is like comparing the synch between my Sony 7600 GR and their 2010 models. The receiver that I was most impressed with was the old Drake TR7 whose 80M vertical antenna was located between my old US Navy ships most powerful radars plus our radio transmitters which were over 1kW. It was picking up a Mars Kansas 1KW station like it was next door while we were in the Mediterranean Sea. My personal Sony radios and others could not filter out the radar’s interference on the. nearby BBC stations so I was amazed at the Drake’s performance, but it’s Achilles heal was drift not as bad as my National Panasonic 2800, but close. 73! Have a great day!
